it is a Pure Dingo which is a bit of a sad thing but he should not of been in the paddock sniffin around the livestock....

I like Dingos but I respect the farmers lively hood an this guy can take out 20 sheep in a night if he wanted, mostly just kill an onto the next.

Predator hunting is all good, Foxes mostly and Wild dogs, You see this is a Pure Breed Dingo, or Alpine Dingo... Theres not many left out there an its said to believe the only Pures are on Fraser Island..

These big yellow ones should be up in the Hills but all the other ex pig dogs an whatever else have interbred with them an create a Nasty, livestock killing machine which runs around in packs.

Id guess this guy around 18-20kg ? im a lil fella :)

The farmers were in jubilee all around the area I shot him, they had heard them howling the past fortnight an one even had a few sheep down.

BTW- also scored more property to hunt on just down the road from where I shot this.... its A-grade deer country too, you beauty!

Thanks

Now that's cool, I didn't know they were a rare sight. From what we see in the movies from Australia, one has the impression these dogs are everywhere.

Very cool wl.... my local farmers feel the same about coyotes......

Yep it is cool, I am tanning the hide as I doubt il ever need to shoot another Dingo on farmland, We have Govt Dog trappers but they can only trap from the Fringe to 3km in the bush to protect the Dingo as it is generally in the high country.
The Govt has declared the Dingo unprotected on Private property but very much Protected "threatened" species in the Bush or State Forest as its known.

Those skinny little Yellow whippets you guys would see are the ones associated in the Desert parts of Australia around the top end etc., the ones who "took my baby". the game is less abundant an they live on mice n lizards, down here they feed on Sheep an Calves which in turn fills them out like this one.
