What 3 Gun AR would you build on a $3000 budget?

The gun doesnt really matters, its the number of rounds you put down range. A pro with a norinco will outshoot a noob with noveske.

1-4x scope is almost a must. use a brake to be in open class. Use a ambi charging handle if you are lefty. And beowulf mags. any 16+ barrel will do.

if the gun doesn't cycle reliably, then the shooter does not matter.
damon hill won formula 1, a chimp driving that Williams car that year would have won formula 1

I've been pointed to the JP15 instead of building my own gun. More than what I want to spend at $3500ish but sounds like it would last me years and years. Any thoughts?

i made the mistake of going with a boutique ar for my 3 gun rifle, lets just say it was a complete disaster and i got a full refund and bought a colt.
i would buy kac lpr with that money

There are so many choices out there. Since you already have the Super Dynamic trigger, you have many options. I'd probably get the Colt 6920 and drop that trigger in. Or you can do some building. I went the simple route and have been running my 16" Core 15 DI. It's been my 3 gun riffle for a few years now. Simple light and fast. I've never had a failure. It has the 13" Troy Alpha rail, Aimpoint Pro (2 moa dot, no magnification, max distance for our matches had been 175 yards) and the Griffin M4 SD Flash Comp. Follow up shots are fast with this comp. I'm really happy with it.

Actually you made the mistake of buying a rifle from an unprooven manufacturer that considers itself boutique because of how flashy and hightech their rifle looks.

If I was going to spend $3k+ for a comp gun I would be buying an JP Or Les Baer rifle w/o thinking about it twice.

There are different models @ different price points.

If for example you don't want to wait and go through the import process for a Les Baer, you could always purchase an JP upper, either new or used, and put together a lower (you already own the trigger group so you're really only missing a few small parts + grip + stock).

CRAFM in Montreal is the JP distributor for Canada and should have uppers in stock, but don't quote me on that.

There was a REALLY nice upper for sale just a week or two ago in the EE. That would have been perfect for you.

There's another one as well in the EE, but the owner has had it up for sale for at least a year and half now (he just renewed his ad with a new one). Not sure what's wrong with it or why it's not selling. Heck I way just buy it myself (mind you I would have prefered a 18''+ barrel).

Good luck with your search/purchase. A new gun is always a great thing :)
