hello was wondering if any one could provide information on when the rivet needs to go to pin the mags to 5 rounds. I would like to know if anyone could provide measurements so they can be pinned right.

edited out

Is there a drain hole in the bottom? If so, stick a pin in with five rounds, measure, then with six rounds, measure, and put your pin halfway between?

But I don't know about doing it in Canada....I think technically you could get in some trouble,I know a guy has even been busted for importing just mag bodies.... Not that it really matters in practice, but I'd personally not ask about it on here as it incriminate you for owning prohibited devices.

Be careful

M1 carbine does mot need to be pinned to five rounds. You can have 8 rounds in it, unless I don't know something about your gun. Check the prohibited devices section of the relevant act of oppression (I mean law)

Completely different rifle bro. You are thinking M1 garand. The M1 carbine is a handy little detachable mag rifle where the garand operates via en bloc clips.

Sorry OP I have no useful info, I have a couple kick mags but they run the dimple pinning method.
