I was wondering if anyone knew when the next shipment of these were gonna be coming in. Or if anyone knew why nea was having such difficulties in production. Chemist from sfrc said it would be months because the guys were busy with ar-15 orders. Myself and others I have spoken too are wondering if nea's contracts with law enforcement is putting them in a situation where they have to choose big ar-15 contracts for the RCMP and other law enforcement or the now prohibited cz858 consumer, due to external pressure not to produce these parts. Also I hear tell of the RCMP being refitted with ar-15's after the tragedy in Moncton , which would be a massive contract, one hard to resist. Either way I think the vz-58 owner should be voicing their concerns. As this is a critical time for producers of cz858/vz58 parts and accessories to show their loyalty to their customers. I myself have been waiting for a parts kit for the upper hand guard for almost two months, it's a $10 part that with out renders the $200 purchase ineffective. It doesn't seem to matter if I ask chemist from sfrc or nea them selves I get no response.

I don't want this to seem like slander, I have been waiting patiently and when I do message them I get treated like last weeks garbage.
 
I need the retention pin and ball. They up and disappeared on me.

I have an extra beaver barf hand guard and was thinking of cutting the pin out and using it but I think the ball is of a different gauge just by comparing the slot on the beaver barf pin from what I remember of the slot in the nea pin. Also the beaver barf pin might not be long enough and cutting it out would destroy my beaver barf.

Good to hear the set screws can be gotten at a hardware store.

I looked at a stock handguard, NEA, and Zahal FAB pieces. All three seem to have the same cross pin.

Not sure where one can source the cross pins? I'd like to get a few spares, and maybe some upper handguard plungers too.

Do you know if these will be the factory style pins, or the chrome style pins? I've seen both on the NEA handguard.
I'm asking about the chrome style pin as I've seen these on two NEA handguards, but I'm not sure if those came from NEA like that?
 
I have emailed nea three times over the last month. Probably totally coincidence but after I started this thread I got a response.

This is what they said

Our VZ accessories are currently not in production. What we do have left in stock is available through our North American retailer SFRC.

I'm guessing a month or so is optimistic. Anyways that was enough to motivate me to cut into a beaver barf upper with a Zip disk and went and bought a ball bearing that fit perfectly. Cannibalized the spring from the beaver barf and zam! I have a working upper hand guard again!! Good news for me and chemist because he doesn't have to worry about me spazzing out anymore! Rest in pieces beaver barf.

No problem at all. We get so many inquiries into our VZ products, and if I had any say we they would be back in production right now lol. I've informed my bosses about the amount of people looking for them, and have been assured we will bring them back. The only question is when exactly.

I will put your name in our customer inquiries list and if I hear any news on this matter I will let you know.

Sorry for another email, but I just learned that because of the increased interest in our VZ products we will be re-releasing them with some enhancements in probably the next month or so.
 
Well that is good to hear. I'm sure upcoming 958 owners will appreciate these spare parts and accessories as well.

Good news! I am hoping they produce more railed barrel clamps and ambi safeties. I wish I had bought one when they were plentiful. They are pretty rare on the EE.
