I just got myself a nice scope to use on my tikka t3 .300 win mag. It's the Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16x44. What I want to know is what is the best way to properly mount this to my receiver?
I was at WSS today and they sold me some Weaver bases that come in two pieces and Burris Zee medium rings. Well I can tell you that after trying to install the scope, the bases are garbage. The rings will not slide onto the mounts because they're slightly too fat and the edges of the bases are not smooth for a good fit. I think I like the rings, but what should I do for a base? Should I get a one piece base instead? I'm going to return these ones as soon as I can.
This is all pretty new to me so some help is appreciated.
