***New to Canada*** SAP6 MAG-FED FLAT-TOP 11.4" 12GA Shotgun **NON-RESTRICTED**

So mine came in last night, what a cool little gun.

The gun is not your typical pump action like a Remington 870... for starters, there is no mechanism to lock the bolt closed until you pull the trigger or push the bolt release. The spring keeps forward tension on the pump, so it stays in battery without assistance, but can be rapidly pumped at any time without actuating the trigger or a separate button. The feeling definitely takes a few minutes to get used to, but it is a very neat feature.

Mags are reasonably close to the size of a standard 30 round AR mag, but thicker. A standard double AR mag pouch will likely hold one of these mags. Mag changes are quite smooth, I like the straight insertion, and the release lever is nice and large, but not in the way.

I will likely try to modify some kind of hand stop onto the pump of the gun as others have mentioned, to keep myself from doing something dumb.

The stock is only OK... it works, but it could use some refinement on the buttons for the adjustments, some features seem poorly thought out and rushed compared to the rest of the gun.

Safety is incredibly stiff on mine, not sure if that is a common issue or not. I'll see if it will work in, if not, I will do some fine tuning on it to get it moving smoother.

All in all, the SAP6 is an awesome little gun for a good price. There are a few small details that can be improved, but I am happy so far. Can't wait to get it out to the range!

Ok, glad Mine isn't the only one with an incredibly stiff safety.
Seems like a pretty cool gun. Might even take it out one of these days.

Could one of guys say if the stocks are removable please. Also how do you find the function and recoil,no lock up of the bolt? friction interference delayed lock?

Stock is removable. Press a small recessed button with a flathead screwdriver or similar tool and stock can slide off the pistol grip. Pistol grip can also be removed and replaced with a standard hunting style stock if preferred.

No word on recoil yet, I'll let you guys know.

I'm torn between this one, and the two other mag-feds that just hit the market.

Yup....but the others have a longer barrel, tough (though at least available..) mods, bigger price- blows...
Not to say they're out of the running, but I love my shorter barrels..

Drums or bigger sticks on this puppy, would be just right, for this one.
No 'stock adapters' is a bit of a hold back, though, as w/o being able to mod the buttstock (think Endine..) or pistol grip, is pretty much a show stopper, for me.

If BBB steps up in the 'mod' department, I'm in big time, provided reliability (especially as it relates to mags..) proves out, over the next bit...

I've seen first hand at 3 gun matches that short barrel shotgun don't do well. Again I think 18" would be perfect.

Yup. I've seen guys with open-choked, short barreled shotguns hit steel plates repeatedly without knocking them down.

Too much power is lost.
