Just bought a new tikka t3 ss in 270for moose hunting. Just wondering what bullets I should use. I have hornady superformance sst 130gr. Just wondering if 130s are to light? .im used to a 300 win mag with 180g

If you have a 300 WM why did you buy a 270. 270 is a great deer rifle for a recoil shy person, the 300 WM is a great...maybe best...moose gun.

The 270 will kill a Moose, just not as quickly or carry the energy to do the job humanely at long range. Should one encounter a large bear(does NL have Grizz??) i would feel better with the 300.

The .300WM would be best for moose, especially if you've a long shot. The .270 would be better for deer. If you're not happy with the recoil of the .300, which is why you got the .270, then don't worry, I've shot a couple dozen moose with a .270 firing Federal Premium Nosler Partitions in 150 grain. I've gone through the leg bone a couple of times and the tough Partition bullet held together and did the job. If you're hunting moose with a .270, I'd strongly recommend the NP if your rifle groups well with them.

I have a rem 700 in 300 wm but im having some problems with it . Some day I will make a good long range hunting gun out of it. The hunting season os sneaking up so I thought id get somthing else incase I cant get the 300 fixed. Figured id get a tikka t3 270 and make a nice shortrange gun out of it
