16 gauge reloads max .oz for steel

Any one re-load for 16 gauge? What would be the max .oz for #1 or BB steel shot?

Reload lots of 16ga lead and bismuth . Could never find a good wad for steel the old BL 80's were crap and I didnot find the so called new and improved PT1680 much better. They would take 7/8 oz of steel max
What are you using for a wad?? It there a new one out I am not up to speed any more on this one

Technically they all load different, bismuth is close to lead, data wise. You are best to use the proper data for each. Lyman's 5th has them seperated into each section for this reason.

I don’t load currently for 16 gauge, or any shot shells for that matter, I was just looking into the top performance. A layman’s question; Bismuth and Heavy shot can be loaded the same as lead? I was looking at these wads, 1 ¼ for lead and 7/8 steel, if I use Bismuth or Heavy can I get the 1 ¼ .oz?

If you curently have never reloaded I would try to hook up with some that does and get some pointers prior to reloading steel
The wads you mention are the exact same ones I have tried and not impressed with They are no sam1 that is for sure
I have reloaded Bismuth with the original blue win AA wads with great success but have never did anything with heavy shot
How many boxes a year in 16ga do you shoot??
Cheers
