2014 IPSC Nationals

What an amazing time.

I got to help with the CRO shoot, meet a lot of new people, made some new friends, host a fellow shooter, and win a gun (HUGE thanks to West Coast Hunting Supplies)!

Let's just not talk about my shooting :(

I look forward to many more Nationals to come.

WoooHoooo
I also won a RIFLE from RELIABLE ARMS. Thanks sooo much. Yes dont ask about the shooting too. Broke a barrel into two pieces, lucky I brought an exact spare pistol, although missed a stage (DNF), had fun to the end of the match. and again thanks to RELIABLE GUN.

Agree to all the above! Hope to see more revolver shooters out in future!

Here's hoping for a good recovery to Clint !

nationals was awesome! great match that went very smoothly from what I saw. The small squads went through well and there wasn't a single prop malfunction while I was shooting. And no stages tossed, very smooth for such a big match.

The shoot off was also tons of fun, a big thanks to all the people who helped put on a great match and the sponsors

Big props to the match organizers and volunteers, this match was one of the smoothest I've seen. I didn't shoot as life got in the way, but I did make it up a couple days to heckle, er, I mean watch friends shoot. The stages looked much better in person than they did on paper. To be honest the stages didn't look all that exciting to me on paper. But getting up there and seeing them in person I realized how much more difficult they really were. This was a technical match, and required people to actually think and shoot, and shoot well, or risk sewering themselves, as a number of top shooters did. It's unusual to see a GM drop 120 points on one stage....
well done people.

The stages "seemed" very basic but were very challenging. LOTS of people dropped a ton of points very quickly and flip flopped all over the standings. Even the wobbly bridge surprised a lot of people.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the great people of IPSC BC that were our hosts last week.

Organized registration, Great stages, good construction, smooth scheduling, great stats, excellent range amenities; food, washrooms, water, etc.
Everything well thought out, planned and handled.

I had a great time shooting the match, I had a wonderful time at our vendor table, meeting and yacking it up with customers, old and new friends and the other awesome vendors / generous sponsors

Note the earlier comment on Clint; Clint was the Range Master and one of the major movers in the match orgaization. He was ill before the match and wouldn't go see a doctor, instead chose to dedicate himself to the match. He was so ill he had to excuse himself early from the NEC and AGM, but then showed up to do his duties as RM on the first day of shooting. At the urging of his friends, (I had no idea how serious it had become, but they explained it well) I ordered Clint off the range, not to return until he had seen a Doctor. He went to Emergency, was diagnosed with Peritonitis, had a 14 hour surgery and is supposed to get out of the hospital later this week. I salute his dedication to our sport, but his life was more important to all of us. I was deeply touched by how much Clint's friends cared and were so concerned about him and the lack of space on his get well card at the banquet sure showed it. Looking forward to his return to the ranges.

Next year's Nationals are definitely in Ontario. Where remains undetermined as our traditional date is the same time as the PAN-AM games in the GTA, which would kill traffic and hotels - so if it's then; it has to be well outside the GTA. We have in the past run the nationals slightly earlier (Same thing happened to us in Winnipeg in the 90s) and that is also an option. Regardless of where it is, I'm already looking forward to it.

There's so many things VERY special about the IPSC Canada Nationals, and every year I'm reminded how special it is.

A big thank you to West Coast Hunting Supplies for their match sponsorship. Call me biased but winning a Glock obliges me to mention how convenient their store location is in Richmond located a few steps away from a Skytrain station. (if I had known where it was I wouldn't have driven, I would have proudly carried it on public transit) :)

Any update on the timing and location of next years Nationals?
