Glock redemption....

Dont seem to have much trouble with my fundamentals and my 3.5 inch groups at 20 yards with my Les Baer, i just think it is a harder pistol to shoot, do i have to make some efforts, i guess so, i hate failure, and this Glock thing even if we made fun of it, is not something, i accept... JP.

I don't believe your groupings to be frank.
I find a Glock more challenging to shoot but it makes me shoot other platforms easier and better (1911)
You can get away with poorer fundamentals on a LB but not a Glock or Sig DA

Same day both targets at the 25 yards line, the Les Baer then the Glock 21, if you can do it with one an cant do it with the other... The car is different not the driver... JP.

The problem is 100% you end of discussion. Your 1911 is THE BEST platform for hiding poor form. A Glock will not hide bad form, it exposes it and throws it in your face. Learn to shoot, then decide what you want for a pistol.

**RANT ALERT***

This thread topic is hashed out at least once a week and it simply baffles me as to why people are so f**king clueless even after being told by many that the problem is THE SHOOTER. Below is a list of some stuff everyone should know, if you don't, you need to read about it then seek training to understand it and see it in practice.

Leading thumbs or thumbs forward grip

Trigger finger placement

Trigger control

Follow through

Working the reset

Sight alignment

Sight picture

If you don't know the definitions to the above and cannot demonstrate the concepts, your fundamentals suck, seek training. Here are some facts that many need to accept.

Most firearms(rifle and pistol) are more accurate than 99% of the people that use them.

FUNDAMENTALS ARE THE SAME FOR ALL FIREARMS AND ARE TRANSFERRABLE. IF YOU CAN'T SHOOT BRAND X BUT "CAN" SHOOT BRAND Y ITS YOU!!! NOT THE GUN

Consistent shot placement known as MARKSMANSHIP, is a LEARNED skill and a PERISHABLE skill. Lack of practice means your skill level will degrade.

YOU ARE NOT A NATURAL BORN SHOOTER, LOVER, OR DRIVER. SEEK TRAINING!

Sight radius is a gimmick. The difference a 1/2" 3/4" or 2" of additional radius makes is indistinguishable to the human eye. Here's another news flash. Your sights are always properly aligned. It is how you see those aligned sights and how you see those sights in contrast to your target that changes. The sights themselves are bolted on and always properly aligned with themselves and the barrel.

Same story for velocity and extended barrels. I have chrono'd a stock G26 with the 3.42" barrel and a stock G17 with the 4.49" barrel. The velocity difference was 30fps, not enough to even care. A G34 or a G17L is not gonna gain you enough velocity to make a difference in any discipline, and definitely won't do anything for ones lack of fundamentals..

TDC

did you even try different ammo or just use the norc and blame the gun?

Tried many ammo, the platform is just not user friendly for me at least, like TDC said ( it sounded more like loud talking) i must be the problem, my HK, Sig, 29, LB, 627, DE 44 mag i all shoot good, Glock no, but it could change with the Longslide, hopefully... JP.

I have a strong suspicion that you are shooting all the listed guns in single action and therein lies the "problem"

Learn to shoot a Glock or DA revolver and you can shoot anything well..

Never thought of it but you are right, all the ones listed, i shoot in SA,... JP.

Since so many of my friends at the club and good members here are so into Glock shooting, i decided to give it another try, i just bought a Glock 17L Longslide ported 6 inch+ barrel...
According to many reviews i read, this longer one is a lot easier to shoot and very accurate, sure, i will have the spring and connector change in this new one...
My other Glock 17 sold to a friend at the club... Could this Longslide 17L salvage my faith in them... We will see... JP.

Have a 21 sf, didn't expect much of it, accuracy wise...., got my finger right into my eye... this gun shoots like a laser. Really impressed by it performance, I'm an HK guy and have to say that I'm still stunned buy its accuracy. Dry firing really helps!!!

LOLLL...JP....i knew you would give it a go in another form.

the G17L is a true and dedicated '''limited 10''' gun. MARK has one that i occasionnaly coach newcomers with. sure, the longer radius may be of some help and with the longer barrel-slide muzzle flip is less noticeable since there's more weight on the front,a quite different balance than the stock 17-22 .

however it is still a glock, but with the spring kit and a connector, it is a very sweet and flatter shooter . get a set of LPA SPR or meprolight adjustable, and i bet you'll love it.

Nothing much to do on this one Sig, it come with the connector 3.5 pounds, spring ( the trigger is between 3.5 and 4.5 pounds )and the adjustable sights are stock... Looking forward to try it... JP.

no.not different of the G34 which gets the same spring-connector set up than the 17L . the comp spring kit and V4 connector makes the stock 17L trigger much more smoother than in stock form .

and i'm a bit envious here....i jiggled with the idea of a 17L for quite a long time, then someone had a deal on another 17 3rd gen i couldn't pass on LOLOLLLLLLL .

now, i suspect that when i'll get a session on yours, i will sell my BNI G22 3rd gen in od green for a 17L......oh well...!!!

You know your welcome to shoot this longslide as much as you want, i always have a couple of extra boxes of ammo for unscheduled events... JP.

That Tombstone really destroy the back stop and the stand ( almost) as a matter a fact... JP.

and the side by side 12 gauge shorty makes some nice holes through the upper buffer tooLaugh2

that 17L....i'd make a super limited 10 with trust me.....brass magwell, brass basepads, tungsten rod, adjustable trigger, adjustable sights ...and of course a cerakote job !!:yingyang:

grrrrr,i think i'm at it again ; now that you beat me to it, i feel it'll be some kind of '''motor to the wire'' for me and the 17L . wolverine has csome 17L instock right now.:HFU:
