THIS IS A MONTHLY TARGET, SHOOT ANY TIME IN THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER

EVERYONE WELCOME

NOTE: If there is any suggestions for future targets, rules etc. I'm all ears. Just let me know and we'll try to implement it!

Target to download (right click and save) and print:

RULES
1)Print to full-size on an A4 or 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.

2) Shooting distance is 5m/16.4ft for pistols.

3) Shooting distance is 10m/32.8ft for rifles.
(The rules for shooting 5m or 10m are that the distance from the target to the firing line should be 10m for rifle and 5m for pistol. All shots, from whatever shooting position must be made with the competitor wholly behind the firing line but able to touch it. Basically the shooter should be behind the line but the part of the gun not being held by the shooter can protrude past the line.)

4) All targets to be shot standing.

5) Any sighting device may be used.

6) NO rests or steadying aids are allowed.

7) 12 shots total (6 per groundhog). 5 sighting/practice shots for the targets in the top right corner.

8) 10 minutes total time (take whatever amount of time for each shot you like, but at 10 minutes-stop!).

9) Scoring is 10 points for red circle, 2 points for blue circle, 1 point for anywhere in the black squares (can be touching the black edge). Only six shots per groundhog (12 shots total). Maximum point count is 120.

10) Entries need to be scanned or photographed and posted. Please list shooting category (5M Pistol or 10M Rifle), gun, calibre (also state if it was a pellet or BB), sighting device and score.

11) You can enter using both a pistol and a rifle as separate entries, only one entry for each, but all rules must be followed.

12) Score your own target. Scoring will be verified by board officials.

13) An honourable contest for sport. To lie or cheat, is the only real loser. Please keep it above-board!

A couple of questions from someone who hasn't done anything like this before:
1. When scoring does the shot have to be (a) entirely in the scoring area , (b) mostly in the scoring area, or (c) just need to be touching the scoring area to count?
2. Is it acceptable to shoot more than one target and then submit your best?
Thanks.

Here's some answers:
1. Just needs to touch to count
2. Shoot a target all you want. Submit your best, but make sure you only make one submission per category (5M and 10M).

If there is anything else, let me know

Here's my submission for 10M rifle. Damn old eyes ain't what they used to be 3yrs ago. The joys of getting old. :p
This is my 5th attempt at the target. Darn two scopes sh!t the bed on the first 3 targets and had to revert to iron sights. Either that or their minimum parallax correction is longer than 10M.

Rifle: Crosman Quest 500 air rifle (with trigger and spring mod)
Caliber: 0.177 pellet
Sighting: iron sights
Score: 46

And here is my contribution to the shoot!

I used a green sheet of paper to highlight the shoots.
I did not count the shoots that ripped the paper into the next higher scoring area.
Keep them coming!

Here's my submission. This was a very challenging target, as you can see by my score :)

"Challenging" is not the word I used (@#$%!!!). You guys must be made of cement! I just couldn't get the scope to stop wobbling.

Good fun though!
