Dirt got it right on post #3 so there was no reason to make another post, but as this is CGN you'll quickly realize that the regulars like to picker amongst themselves.
As Big Bad stated don't sweat it Savage cause most here are rather decent at helping out another shooter, even the wannabe shooters. (not that that's what you are;))

Thank you for that and no I am not a wannabe shooter I have shot a lot of guns down in the US and a few military weapons as well one of my friends down there was a navy seal plus my family was really good friends with a well known family who I won't mention his name because the last time I did there was a lot of name bashing about him and I don't want to get into that again even though me saying this everyone on here will know who I am talking about and I don't want to have to get a MOD to delete this post like I had to a different one. So I know about some of the US laws I had now idea about ITAR because I never had to deal with them yes I shoot a bunch of Glocks and 1911's but I had no idea about what parts could be swapped and what couldn't I always got my friend to swap the parts and that was that. So yeah I'm not a wannabe shooter at all I just don't know the Canadian laws that well or about the Canadian companies because down there you could order guns from pretty much any company. So I will leave it at that.

No worries Savage as you see I had the little guy winking after that wannabe quote so as to show I'm just kidding around/being sarcastic as I figured you to be a shooter.
Now as for knowing a real Navy Seal, well that's a different story.;) Seriously though you might think twice before wanting to try and understand our Canadian Firearms Laws, because most shooters that have been living with them their whole lives are still trying to make sense of them.:D

However back to the topic of Canadian made Colts, please note these aren't a USA copy, they are an even better version of what is sold in USA Wal-Marts. So if you find yourself ever owning one you'll be happy to know they are a very durable and well made product.

A former co-worker of mine was a Navy Seal.

Except for the military haircut, you would scratch your head and say to yourself "how could such a nerdy looking/acting slender guy be a Seal?"

And to no surprise a Complete opposite persona of the movie portrayals .....

His LinkedIn profile simply states "Conducted clandestine operations in support of US interests internationally."

Sorry for the off topic.

And Yes .... Get One!

Yes I know you were kidding. Well that is great info to know that the Colt Canada AR's are built derable and are a better version and yes I am seeing that the Canadian laws are very hard to understand the US laws where hard to understand in some states but even those hard to understand laws where even easier then the Canadian ones

To the OP,
you should buy one they are awesome!

Ya I have been looking at the Colt Canada ones since I was told to look at them and I am considering one to be my next purchase but I would definitely change out the hand guard to one that had I think it is called a 4 way picitini rail don't know if I spelt it right or not.

Well I guess the Mods handled that and now we can get back on topic I just hope I don't get in trouble from the admin again for sticking up for myself and for other newbs that have been treated the way I here. But now lets get back onto topic.

So why couldn't Colt Canada sell the C8IUR or the LE901 or C8 Carbines from looking at them the are all semi-auto and not select fire like military rifles are so why can't these ones be sold to civilians.

He is most probably lying....the odds of actually bumping into a former Navy Seal is highly improbable.

But I would get a C8 but just not right now, just can't put it in my budget for at least another year. .

Matt already explained that.
Since Colt Canada is a defence production facility and the military rifles are produced under an existing a manufacturing licence agreement from the US State Department, a separate licence is required for each rifle for the commercial market. No other models are approved for commercial sale at this time.

No that your opinion matters. But actually I was friend with a navy seal that I met through a my friend that did all the work on my 1911 that I had and my AK. I hate when someone who doesn't know you from s hole in the ground and they call you a liar.

Sorry I worded it wrong is most companies for example wolverine supply or IRUNGUNS have those licenses so why can't they get them and the sell them to us. I hate Canadian gun laws.

You're misunderstanding the difference between having a manufacturing license + having a license to sell the said firearms (directly or via a distributor) Vs a license issued to a vendor for resale of firearms already manufactured.

Major difference.

Ok so no getting those other colt guns only the ones they sell through a distributor.

With all due respect it is difficult to know a person's background on the internet except based on what they have post in the past. Looking at some of your previous posts they paint a very confusing picture.

Just received my PAL/RPAL today now I need to save up to buy my first gun. Can't wait to be a gun owner.

Hi guys i have been looking at guns for a while now and I am wondering what is a good first hand gun to own is it a Glock lets say 17 or 19 or a colt or wilson combat 1911 pistol. Any advice would be great thank you.

But the difference between the stock Glock slid and the ones Salient and Glockworx offers is there's is titanium instead of polymer.

While I personally don't own a Glock I am pretty sure the stock slide is metal
