I was snooping on an auction site for an upcoming auction and saw this thing:

I've seen one of these before and know where to get my hands on one if I want, but I know nothing about them other than being a single shot 22LR.

Can anyone here shed some light?

It was made by Firearms International Corp. called the Garcia Bronco. Came in .22, .22 Magnum, .410 and .22 and .410 over and under. Also known as the Bauer Rabbit at one point. The .22 came in a takedown version aswell as a non takedown. Cool little guns, accuracy isn't incredible but none the less they are very interesting.

My dad has one of these. You pull back on the "trigger" under the breach and the action swings open sideways and up. You insert a .22LR round and close it, fire it, then repeat as needed. There is a little button that you push to extract the used shell back towards the shooter. There is a little push-across safety, too.

It is fun gun to shoot, but so light and slim it is actually a bit difficult to aim with. Damned slow to reload, as well.

Can you link to the auction site? I am always up for bidding on something.

I've handled one of them things before, but I knew nothing about it at the time. It did seem odd and somewhat uncomfortable for me though, I have long arms and can generally handle longer firearms, but this thing was so small and light and has hardly any material to hold onto. But still somewhat neat in it's own little way!

Here's where I saw it
