Wind Flags where to buy?

What type of material fo you recomend for the pivot pin? Ive got a guy that makes signs as well that I used to work with. Now I just got to find some arrow shafts. I assume you want the pivot pin at the ballance point?

The balls are wooden craft balls from Michaels or any craft store that sells them. An aquaintance owns a sign shop so I got the colored vinyl from him as well as the arrows.

UHMW aka Delrin for the pivots. The pins for the stands I used SS Heck head bolts. When I get time I can show all the parts.

Just get tired of having to up load photos to my Photobucket and all the other BS to put them up. Would be nice if photo uploads were as easy as one of the US Forums.

Pivot pin on the left is the SS Hex head bolt that fits into an arrow insert. I cannot remember what the thread is for arrow inserts but I am sure one can find out quite easy. The white pivot pin is from Rick Graham. I had him make them for me custom order to fit my flag stand poles.



Top is just a chunk of 3/4" UHMW. I had an aquaintance with a lathe drill/mark the center of the UHMW at either end so the holes would be on center. I drilled them myself on the drill press to the depths I needed. The left bolt is the stock SS hex head bolt. Middle the head cut off, cut smoothed out and polished in the drill press. Right another pivot pin that I ground to a point.
