Hey guys, I tried lookin for this on the net, no luck though. Just thought I'd ask here.
Just bought a norinco np22 from P&D in Edmonton and I've been wantin to buy some more mags. I'm not overly excited about payin $60+ for sig 226 mags, and can't seem to find (in stock) norc mags (SFRC for ex). Stupid question, but do norinco np34 mags fit in the np22??
I'm still a nooby guys, so over time i may have to pony up and pay 60 bucks (instead of 30) for sig mags :(
The other option I saw was a Mec-Gar Sig p226 mags for 44.99 on that Northern Republic Magazine website

I remember complaints that newer SIG magazines don't work in the NP22 frames.

As far as NP-34 mags they are different part numbers on Marstar's website, but look to be the same minus the rubber bottom

The Sig mags I have did fit in my NP22 but were a tad snug. Smack 'em to seat 'em. If you find extra Norc mags though, they work great in Sigs. In fact, my NP22 arrived with two Norc mags and one Sig mag. I have the newest gen of Sig mags as well, they go in with a firm smack.

Awesome, that's good to know, thanks! I'll just have to wait on SFRC to get some norc mags in stock ($30 vs $60 for sig) or save up for sig mags. Thanks tho !

I just picked up a couple Sig mags today, and boy was I disappointed when they wouldn't seat in my NP22. I didn't try smacking them, but I was forcing them in pretty hard, and they would not catch. A quick visual shows the notch in the mag body to be a little lower than the Norc version. Looks like I'll be bringing that hole up a bit. Haven't measured, but it looks like its only shy by less than a 16th.

Well...I did two different solutions and both worked. 1) buy a Sig mag release and problem solved. 2) take a jewellers small square file and file out the mag catch hole on the mag (less then 1mm)
Worked on Sig and MecGar mags....no big deal and they still worked fine in my 226...

Thanks Soldner

Figured as much. Didn't want to wreck them just in case I got a real 226 someday down the road, but I figure that if I only take off the minimum amount to make them work, it should be fine. Good to hear that yours still work in a Sig.
