Both .22lr 1911, but full size, both reasonably priced.

I know about some of the problems with the GSG, but they all have easy solutions.

Don't know much about the Colt, but, its a Colt.

Thoughts? Opinions?

other choices?

It's not a Colt! It's a Walther with a "Colt" paint job. But their guns with the barrel integrated to the frame seem to be pretty good. The S&W M&P22 made also by Walther is the same design.

I bought the Colt Rail Gun version 22 this year and am very happy with it, approx 2000 rounds through it. It is very reliable, very accurate and works the best with the cheapest bulk ammo (bucket O bullets) Had a chance to shoot it against a GSG at the range one day and we both agreed that mine was superior by far. The part I like the best about it is it dissembles like my center fire 1911's, ask a GSG owner what they think of the allen screws to take it apart. Even though it is not a true Colt Walther has doen a great job with this gun.

If I had the choice it would be the Colt Gold cup, had a chance to borrow a club members one to try recently and it was really nice to shoot.. may still get one to add to the crew. Better overall quality IMHO

I have the Colt. I disagree about it reliably feeding all sorts of ammo. My experience has been that it FTF any soft lead bullets. It only reliably feeds copper coated ammo like Mini Mags. Otherwise, awesome gun.

I'm afraid, comparison of two products from different price brackets isn't reliable, IMHO. Colt is twice as expensive as GSG. Looking from this point of view, GSG seems more attractive.

Gsg for me....hate the tear down screw, but otherwise, dlask adj rear site, shoots great, on my second..( sold my first, missed it, bought another ) great pistol, good price, eats fed bulk all day after polishing the feed ramp...

Look, its a 1911 style gun that has to cycle with 22 lr ammo. Neither the GSG nor the "Colt" will defy the laws of physics. The GSG is a bit rough but cheap, don't like that go "Colt" or "Sig Sauer".

The sig is a Gsg......as I understand it....or do you mean the sig .22 upper?

I have the Gsg with over 3800 rounds in this summer. A couple of FTF over then that it's a great gun. No problems at all. Maybe I have the exception to the rule but the GSG gets my vote. A side note to the finish is holding up very well. I don't holster it and the OD finish is great.
