Best place online to buy 9mm ammunition?

Reliable Gun in Vancouver has decent pricing on Barnaul Steel case 9mm.
Obviously the closer to you the better for shipping.
You could get Barnaul at some Canadian Tire stores, $16 for a box of 50. There is 25 boxes sitting on the shelf at our local CT or you could get them on-line. There is a store in Ottawa that sells 1000 rounds for $230. These are the target which is similar to the Brown Bear with its lacquered coating. Have not come across the zinc coated Silver Bears yet. The type of powder, blow back and lacquer means that the firearm should be cleaned more often.

It kind of depends on how cheap you want to go. $299 shipped seems to be about the best around for decent quality brass cased (Tradex Canada). SFRC has decent prices as well but it depends where you are as they don't seem to offer free shipping regardless of the size of the order.

Got a name for the Ottawa store?

Just got 1500 rounds from canadaammo....free shipping....have to say it shoots pretty well...not match grade, but for drills or just target practice seems fine...

Looks like the Wolf 124gr TMJ is pretty reasonably priced. Is there any issues/risks using a commercially reloaded ammo? I am also new to centerfires. What kind of powder load is ideal for plinking and target shooting? I've seen 115gr, 124gr and 135gr so far.

The WOLF ammo is supposed to be good.

For a while I used it as practice ammo, but then I realized how completely differently it behaved from my regular bulk ammo (the Wolf was far less accurate and consistent) that I totally gave up on it.

It may be the specific gun I had (92FS) , and not the ammo. Different guns love different ammo, I hear.

Just telling you my personal experience.

Brass for reloading and steel/aluminium for lower costs.

Those are the bullet weights, not powder loads.

I've had very good luck with Wolf. If there's one thing I noticed is it might not be as accurate as factory loaded ammo; but that may just be me and it's still worth it for the cost.
Can't comment on the different weights, all I've used is the 124gr FMJ.

. The Wolf stuff is used by many IPSC shooters (or at least so they say) so I don't see them using a load too hot or weak otherwise it would be banned from competition.

As for the bullet weight, 115/124/135 for plinking, get whatever is cheapest. Target and competition, you need to get a box of several major brands and see which one your pistol has the most success with. Even 2 pistols of the same type may prefer different ammos
