So, I recently picked up a Springfield M1A Loaded MA9226. It should be arriving in the mail next week sometime, and I'm having a hard time finding out some information.

Can anyone tell me where the current M1A rifles are manufactured? I believe the pistols (XD Series) are made in Croatia, but I'm not too sure about the rifle.

Thanks,

SC

AFAIK, they are assembled in the US, tho not all parts are US made, Springfield used to use USGI parts, tho they have all but dried up, the receivers are cast not forged which for some is an issue. some parts are made overseas, Taiwan I think, tho I am not entirely sure which.

SA M1A receivers are cast forgings from a foundary in Quebec. Barrels are US made. Other parts are both US and foreign sourced.

I do not know where the receivers are cast nowadays but they are machined in the USA. The rifles are assembled in Geneseo, Illinois with US, Taiwanese, and Korean parts. Korea has made M1A SOCOM barrels.

I never held one, I heard there great guns! That being said they got a us made premium for a not really un made gun. But hey look at the cars we drive and they are no worst.

Both my SA NM M1A are among the best rifles i own, you will just appreciate how well made and accurate they are... Top shelve rifles... JP.

No matter where they are made (or assembled) the coolest thing for me is I buy spare parts when and where I can and the majority of the parts will fit my M1A and my Norinco M14S.
Both are loads of fun and very fussy about the loads and how you hold them which is part of the challenge. (I like to hold mine tight)
I find more and more that the only thing made in Canada is Canadians!
Seems in the last few years most packaging now says "assembled in" not "made in" Canada or US so we don't have a lot of options in what we buy.
