I know it's been asked many times, but "search" would not cooperate with me today, so i ask again.
I need a holster and 5 mag pouches for my Shadow, what is my best option?
Thanks

It depends on which sport you want to compete in. Some holsters are not legal for certain shooting sports.

If it is for IPSC, I would suggest CR Speed, DAA Racemaster or the Manny Bragg holster. We sell the DAA and Manny Bragg ones on our web site.

This
"Race holster" versus "Concealment" Versus "Tacticool" Versus "Super level 14 retention"
"Best" is a bit too open and will prolly generate too many returns.

So, whats your intent? basic holster practice? Competition and if so which one?

Yep, more info needed. Your question is akin to asking what is the best 9mm pistol.

dont really need info, a bladetech DOH wont hold you back in IPSC in the slightest (I have a DAA racemaster as well, nice but not needed), and if you need a "concealment" holster for other sports just take the DOH part off and it will mount directly to you belt.

no one needs an active retention holster for a shadow, no one issues it so no one needs to practice for work with it. plus if you are being tacticool an H&K will suit you much better and all the other tacticool guys will make fun of your "race gun" anyways.

A bit different that some of the other options presented here, but One Shot Tactical carries a nice looking nylon/Cordura holster made by HSGI.
It wouldn't be the best for competition, but as a general use holster (if such a thing exists in this country) it looks great.

I almost bought one a year ago.
I had money in hand, and Jen never returned my call regarding pricing, so I didn't follow through.
I kinda regret not being more assertive now, I'm still on the hunt for a nice holster. Maybe I'll see something I like in this thread.

For now I’m planning on taking the Black Badge course, and then decide which way to go.

Jonboy72,
What kind of a material is it made of? I forgot to mention that it would be nice to have a holster which along with other qualities wasn't rough on the gun finish.

P.S. I thank everybody for suggestions, please keep them coming

Hi there.
It is a kydex holster. I have been making them the last year. The kydex is like glass on the inside so no wear. You can tighten or loosen it yourself. If you plan on doing black badge, you will want bladetech. I use kydex for idpa. I can make one if you want.
