How old is your rifle? Which M-70 you have, whether its a pre-64, an XTR, a Classic, or one of the new FN manufactured rifles, matters. If you want synthetic, a McMillan fiberglass stock is pretty hard to beat, but if you prefer wood, you might find a good used stock on the EE, order a new stock from Boyds, or if your pockets are deep, have Ralph Martini produce a custom stock from a high quality, nicely figured walnut blank. Regardless of your budget, I would avoid wasting money on a plastic stock. Perhaps a gunsmith could breath life back into your current stock.
