Hello everybody.
I am thinking about putting a scope on my K31 but don't want to drill any holes in it. I found some options online that work without modifying the rifle and I was wondering if anybody has done it already and how well it works.
Thanks

Look at the swiss products scope mount. I have one on my k11 and it works great. Their clamp on k31 mounts are very highly spoken of, and a member on here supplies them( or at least did). There are reviews online and maybe some older threads on CGN as well.

It works fine, I hardly notice it on mine and really made the accuracy of this fine rifle come out! only takes a minute to install as well.

A very well thought out mount.

Doesn't make any difference for the majority of people.
I've have had a few people whose concerns were due to stiff necks from injuries

I am happy with my setup. Used medium rings.

I purchased the steel clamp on mt from Diopter and couldn't be happier.I used a set of 3/8 steel Burris .22 rings and a German reticle 6x Leupold for glass.Remember to slide your front ring fully forward up tight against the stop on the dove tail.Harold

Get a set of these off Amazon for $15.00, they work very well -

I have the same Swiss Products scope mount but I really dislike how the casings hit my scope when ejecting. I noticed that Swiss Products now has newer design that mounts the scope straight and also deflects the casings. I emailed Tradex already to see if they are going to bring it in.

First I heard of such. Where did you see this?

It all depends on which side the scope offsets... I Hear some people who are right-handed, but left-eye dominant really like 'em.

The mount is fitted to the right-hand side of the action, but the offset to the bore is very slight. Most get used to it very quickly - remembering that only the USMC 03 sniper, with its x8 Unertl scope, had an over-bore scope LOS.

This is a quote from Latigo St Marie of Swiss Products, who actually makes the things...'The offset is .675". If you can tell that difference at 100, 200 or 1000 yards you're a much better shot than I am, Gunga Dihn!
The offset on the SP mount is less than the offset on the M1D Garand sniper rifle. Zero it at 200 yards and then see if you can factually shoot a group of 5 or 10 rounds and tell the difference at 100 or 500 yards. None of us do that.'

I've had the alloy version for a number of years, as well as both the early and the new versions of dioptre sights - all do exactly as they are meant to - perfectly. Some folks finagle a piece of bent alloy to deflect the spent case away from the scope tube - coming from a long line of professional 'Red Greens', I use duct tape, and perform the extraction with an element of gentlemanly finesse, rather than try and see how high and far I can fling the empty case...

I note that Zedbra has a side turret on his spiffy Zeiss scope - right in the path of an extracting case. Well, I just have a K4 Weaver on my K31 - more in keeping with the spirit of the arm, and compulsory anyhow hereabouts, where vintage 'sniping' comps are limited to a x4 power scope of any kind, to give those poor buggers with No4[T] rifles some kind of a chance, I'd guess.

Yah, me too, as well also. In fact, ANY scope mount that DOESN'T mount the scope straight is as useful as a chocolate fireguard.

Let us in on the secret.

My K31 shot .75 at 100 yards with irons and my failing eyes. With the scope setup .614 sighted 3/4" to the left of the crosshair to allow parallel bullet flight bore to crosshair from the muzzle to the moon. It isn't uncomfortable at all mounted slightly to the right. Will ventilate a deer with it this fall............Harold
