Birthday Mosin

So... I'm 49 today and, to celebrate this milestone, I decided to pick up a Mosin.

I chose a nice 1940 round receiver Izzy.

Finish and bore is very nice.

Canadian Tire on McPhillips in Winnipeg wanted $174.99. No cosmo to remove and nicely oiled up.

Can't wait to take it out to the range.

1940 is still pre-war construction. Shim it up and you should have 2-3" at 100m.

"Pre-war", that's one of the reasons I picked it up.

I'll break her down first to get a good idea of the overall condition, re-assemble, take her out to the range and see how she does.
