Don't forget to drop by at the range there, only thing I missed the most is RPG. Too bad, can't drive T54 tank anymore.
Ive done the range there back in 2007...$100 per rpg...now i hear its up to $300.
Hate the long flight but its amazing n cheap once there. Wife is from Vietnam next door to Cambodia(Met her here in Canada)..time to see her aging mom so here we go again.

Yeah ! that's expensive for 300 $ per rounds. It only cost me 3 cases of beer in 2005. I can shoot all day long with all surplus ammo there at my hometown. Too bad, thing change recently. Still I can shoot almost any guns, In Phnom Penh at the Minister of Defense, there were stock pile of modern guns from Russian and China.
Next time, I'm going I will look for M1 garand's spare part. During Vietname war, Cambodia got issued M1 garand, M1 carbine and some M16, all surplus from American troops.
I bet... I fired an M1 carbine there but was disappointed to not find any Garands at the range just outside Phnom Penh. Lots of other cool rifles fired..cant wait to get back. On a social level, I was impressed how friendly the Khmers were... a lot better than the Viets.
So true, it wasn't offer at the range. The ammo is expensive and hard to acquire in Cambodia since it's US made ammo. It was called garand m1 but in French instead of English.
You should be able to get free dinner at countryside house and free hotel when visit pagoda.

Not that its expensive there... last time we stayed near the Phnom Penh bus terminal for only 8$. Nothin fancy but clean n quiet.Could have splurged $20 for a fine hotel.
N food was cheap too. Met a Cdn gal n her hubby from Montreal..who returned there to open a restaurant...great food.(Police showed up during breakfast to extort some cash from the owner). Owner told me a funny story about the Fire Dept... u have a fire..better get your cash or gold out if you want their help when they arrive. But who knows..these civil servants prob earn peanuts.
Our regular moto driver even took us out to dinner.
Love Cambodia and Cambodians. Only complaint is the scorching heat
I belong in Siberia with my heat intollerance.
I met a lot of Europeans and North Americans who had gone there to work or retire. Prices are right.
On a fixed pension,, one could live there like a king for 6 months a yr, and return to Canada for the next 6 months to keep your health insurance active
