I went to 5 different stores today and only 2 had .22lr and they were both asking outrageous prices...
I won't lie to you and say I didn't buy any, but does anyone know of an online dealer where you can buy a case or at least a couple of bricks of 22.lr?
Thanks

It only seems to be getting worse. Walmart has tripled the price of Win. 333 packs, from $9.96 t0 $28.96, in just a few years.
Just under 10 cents a rd., for bulk .22's. Good ol' days are gone.

You may want to try Bass Pro I picked up 20 boxes (6500 rounds) of Federal Auto Match from the Calgary store a few weeks ago at under $0.06 per round. Also Wolverine has Remington Subsonic, I had them ship 6 bricks (3000 rounds) a couple of weeks ago, it was $0.075 per round + $20 shipping. Reliable in Vancouver has cases of 5000 rounds of Federal Champion for just over $0.07 per round (+shipping).

If you find any CCI Mini Mags let me know!

Thanks for the info, hopefully they still have a case left!
If I find any minimags I will PM you.

I hope we remember those who are taking advantage of the situ when it turns around.

From what I was told they got a shipment and the price was higher than normal.. "We got what we got, and the price was not negotiable" I guess it's for me to make the decision whether they are lying and taking advantage of the situation, or they're telling the truth.

I don't doubt the exchange rate from USD to CAD makes a difference but the majority of the price fixing is happening on the retail end in Canada for sure. look at walmart US price for 22lr ammo and you will see what I am talking about.

Canadian tire in Bowmanville has .22lr. There website is showing 13 boxes of the 1000 rounds.

Good grief! Supply and demand!!

If the demand is so high, why won't someone step up and start manufacturing some home grown .22? Sell it for 5 cents a round, under cut Wally Mart, and get rich in the process?

That's my $0.02 (or 1/3 cartridge)

I can't help you guys with an online source, but if your in Nova Scotia and looking for 22 lr, Canadian Tire in Yarmouth has a good supply. They have Federal bulk at 28.99, Dinapoint and Remington Bulk also. I have been able to get a steady supply from them during past several months. I walked out with 20 boxes of Federal Bulk for the boys at the range a couple of months ago. If your in the Halifax area check out The Army Navy surplus. They have been getting some of their backordered Blazer and also had some Remington Buckets. Sorry to hear that some of you guys are having great difficulty finding ammo. I like to shoot anything CCI.

Remington, Federal & Winchester have been available at Cabelas, Sail, and Flaherty's most times this summer. I havn't seen any Blazer around for the last 9-10 months anywhere.

I'm glad I happened to find some mini-mags this summer at Bass Pro. I've been looking for more but haven't found anything worth while. If you want .22 it's definitely out there, but you can't be picky.

after going through most of my stock of federal 22 hp, I grabbed a bucket of "new improved " remington hp. wtf were they before Remington improved them?

Picked up a case of Winchester "222" at Accuracy Plus in Peterborough yesterday.

Put some through a M&P22 to see if it would function properly, as I've only used Mini Mags prior, no issues so far.

I can't see Wal-Mart deliberately price-gouging, they operate on a pretty strict formula of margins and mark-ups. I can see it coming from their suppliers, who are selling at full capacity to all the retailers, both US and Canada , who then sell out to the ammo hoarders as quick as they get stock. "Once people stop hoarding and start shooting a stable supply chain will return" , yeah right.

When are you starting up your 22 Ammo business?

When are you starting up your 22 Ammo business?

Never. Cuz any ammo my incompetent self made for you would probably pattern like a 12 GUAGE if it didn't blow up and kill you first.

But there must be companies or individuals out there with the knowledge and expertise. What about wolf? Or a former employee of one of the big manufacturers...

I mean, come on! Someone got rich cuz they saw a market for blankets with sleeves! Surely demand for .22 like this is a no brainer!
