.22 ammo!!

4 million rounds a day at say 4¢ retail = $160,000 - labour costs, tax, and other overhead. Seems to me I should have bought stock in CCI.
I wonder what Mossy and Rem profits are going to be this year??????

Plus the import companies that want their 10%+ They arent hurting either. But my guess is they say they are because of the dollar.
Which is BS because some of us remember the dollar at .75¢ not .91¢
When the dollar got to 95¢ greed is what forces them to whine about 3-4¢

Fyi CT was selling dynapoint for 32.50ish. It has or will go up to $40 a brick this week. Its already switched on the website!!!!

Went in this morning and bought 2 boxes at 31.49 each plus tax. Shoots good in my guns. Will give me a few more outings. Thanks for the tip. No ideal when/if the stores will follow the web. Was 7.1 cents/round out the door, which is OK these days.

Never. Cuz any ammo my incompetent self made for you would probably pattern like a 12 GUAGE if it didn't blow up and kill you first.

But there must be companies or individuals out there with the knowledge and expertise. What about wolf? Or a former employee of one of the big manufacturers...

I mean, come on! Someone got rich cuz they saw a market for blankets with sleeves! Surely demand for .22 like this is a no brainer!

What's needed is money. And apparently those who have the money to cover the start up costs don't think it's a wise investment.
I'm guessing that to keep it profitable, you'd need your own supply of powder, lead and brass, and if the big manufacturers(including powder for reloaders) aren't keeping up now, I'd guess their isn't a surplus of materials out there to keep your manufacturing line operating either. You'd be sitting on your hands, losing money.

Im buying for the future. My father nlaw has wizbangs marked .25 a box of 50.
Its now 4.60 -9.00 a box.
What the heck is the price 30 years from now?
My kids will want to shoot. Or atleast Ill want to shoot with them.
No way Im paying $50+ a brick!

30 years from now, the price will probably be life in prison for having a box of ammo.

I'm on my way over to wallymarf right now for an unrelated item , but I will take a look at the ammo section and report back....

Well wallyworld didn't have any .22 other than those shotshell things.

It only seems to be getting worse. Walmart has tripled the price of Win. 333 packs, from $9.96 t0 $28.96, in just a few years.
Just under 10 cents a rd., for bulk .22's. Good ol' days are gone.

28.96?

I was just at Wal Mart yesterday, and 555 (not the 333) was going for... either 24.50 or 25.50, can't remember.

No way in hell I'm paying 30 bucks for a 333 pack. Glad I bought a bunch of 555s @ the $21.96 price a while back.

I just got back from CT. I spoke with the owner because the price increase on some items is a bit.... Harsh.

I asked if he was aware, he confirmed that he was and then proceeded to tell me about how their costs have not gone up but because of supply and demand they will be charging more. Within 60 seconds of the opening of the conversation the store owner responded to me saying "You know, some people might consider that gouging", by responding with "I understand why you might say that but I don't want to speak about it with you, I have better things to do. Please email HQ with your concerns". Again, this was the store owner. I will add neither of us were rude or un courteous he just simply wasn't interested.

In the past I have spoken with him about grossly over priced items and he made efforts to (successfully) get things changed. One example a 715T for 499.99 that got changed after speaking with him to $350.00. I figured he might be receptive to the ammo concern.

A couple examples...
M22 1,000 rounds Was:52.99 now 64.99 A little more than a 20% increase (not that horrible of a change I suppose)

Rem 525 golden bullets Was 32.99 Now :44.99 A little more than a 36% increase which without a cost increase on their end seems... Douchey

after going through most of my stock of federal 22 hp, I grabbed a bucket of "new improved " remington hp. wtf were they before Remington improved them?

I nabbed a bucket and they didn't do well in my 10/22. However, they were fine in every other .22 I own. (Cooey, Henry, Chiappa).

What I will note is that they 'golden' portion of the bullet create a 'golden' dust on your fingers and metal.

I was in Shooters Choice in Waterloo last week and they had lots of stock and iirc the price was around $50 for brick (500) of cci minimags which is what I always paid. They also had bulk .22 but I never asked about the price.

I was surprised to see that LeBaron in Mississauga had several bricks of Rem 22 Sub Sonic in stock….it became obvious why when I noticed the price per brick(500) was marked SPECIAL $43.

I bought 2,100 Federal (4 x 525) in a .50 BMG Ammo can at Cabelas in Barrie this summer. It was $129.95 which is 6 cents per round plus $3.95 for the can - not a bad deal in today's market. My son bought one also.

I have found that CTC is a rip-off because you are not buying directly from CTC, you are buying from an owner/operator store so there is an extra wallet to fill in that extended supply chain. Same thing with Home Hardware...
