Was in Cabelas in Barrie yesterday and they had a used 870 Wingmaster in the gun library. It had a 34" barrel, vent rib, two beads. Even better it was threaded for Rem Choke! Absolutely beautiful, balanced very nicely aimed very naturally. I was literally digging the cash out of my pocket when I realized it was a left handed model. Now I'm dying for a super long duck gun!

I cannot seem to find a factory 34" barrel online, it seems like this was a limited edition trap version. Anyone know where I could dig up something like this?

There is two listed in the EE but fixed choke
Sorry I was wrong one is an 1100 34"
They come up maybe one a year but not cheap
run a WTB listing and you will probally locate one but rare to have choke tubes
Cheers

Pour-effing-quoi? To get 6" closer to the ducks?

Shoot one for trap and watch the ink spots
The 34 inch remington trap barrel is considered one of the best barrels they ever made. There is less noise and movement to the shooter using this barrel, and they smoke targets. Back in the day they were called smoke poles and are now quite collectable.
Place the 34 inch barrel on a 870 TB and it smothes out my swing and one normally picks up a few targets. Most are stamped for "Modified Trap" and "Improved Trap" There was some duck/ goose versions also
Cheers

I shot one for trap back in the 70's...

The only advantage to an extremely long barrel is sight radius... you can point it a bit more accurately... it does not shoot any farther.
