I have developed a load already for my .308. It shoots very well at .5 moa. I am thinking about adding a muzzle brake. Will this effect my developed load by changing the vibration node or other factors?

"YES" especially if the muzzle brake vents to the sides............................and the guy sitting next to you at his bench keeps getting blasted by your rifle.
And the "effect" causes him to come over to your bench with a ball peen hammer and interrupts your load development.
My second favorite "effect" is having a hot AK case from the guy sitting next to you going down the back of your shirt and making you start break dancing.

Look up dry humor or deadpan hoser, I "had" one bolt action rifle with a muzzle break and watched how fast the people sitting to the left and right of me at the range either moved or got up and left because of the blast. And when I do go to the range with my AR15 rifles I go during the week when everyone is at work "big guy" out of respect for other member at "our" range we pay for membership at. And the "dry humor" was to make the OP think "where" he will be doing the most shooting and make him also think about how many accurate custom rifles have a muzzle break installed to improve accuracy.

Easy there.. When you've helped out as many people on this forum (and on many others in the US) as bigedp51, you get to lay on a bit of humour from time to time.
Savage I believe has offered a twist on and off brake.
I was told to set it up for the way the brake would be used or not
with regards to P.O.I.
Can't hurt to try both ways at the range, then you will know for sure
how your specific shooter behaves.

I added a brake on my Rem 700 in 300WM and the PoI changed about 0.5 MoA with no change as to which load is the most accurate. I think I was just lucky though. It does make sense that it would change optimum loads but it shouldn't effect the load that produces maximum pressure as you aren't doing anything that should change burn characteristics. Peak pressure should be reached well before the bullet reaches the end of the barrel and harmonics shouldn't change burn rates enough to notice without some scientific equipment.
Every Savage rifle I've heard of that comes with a muzzle brake has it thread-locked on. Need some good torque or even a little heat to get it off.

Was shooting at the EOSC range and a fella parks himself beside me with Rem .308 with a break. The guy was a real good fella, chatty, friendly. When he fired the first round off my hair lifted and my reloading pad blew off the bench, lol. Anyway later he offered to let me try his rifle and took a seat in my seat. After I touched off a round he couldn’t stop apologising ....lol Said he had no idea it would produce such a concussion...was all good.

Will a muzzle brake change the POI? Most likely. Will it change accuracy? Only range testing can tell you that. Will it change anything else? Nope.
All the issues that come up when someone starts asking or talking about adding muzzle breaks to their rifles would be non-existent if those using them showed a little more common sense and courtesy when at a range and around other shooters. The noise and blast to the sides is amazing, especially with the larger cartridges. No one would ever complain if everyone using them paid a little more attention to the effects it has on those around them.

The rifle I had that bothered the shooters the most was a .270 Winchester model 70 with BOSS, it was a barrel tuner and muzzle brake, read the link below.

This rifle was the most boringly accurate rifle I ever had, in one trip to the range by adjusting the BOSS I was shooting 5/8 groups, meaning the muzzle break DID effect accuracy. The muzzle break (BOSS) BALLISTIC OPTIMIZING SHOOTING SYSTEM worked fantastic but it really bothered people to the right and left. I bought the rifle because I had a ruptured disk in my neck and thought it would reduce recoil, it didn't so I sold it off.
So the weight of the BOSS/muzzle break being moved back and forth tuned the barrel and you also could get a solid BOSS that was not a muzzle break and keep the people next to happy.
