SAM 45 auto

I only shot 2, 45 Commanders. I own a 9mm Gov Mil Enhanced. Better fit and finish then a norc. With only being a couple hun more.
 
I have a full size 1911 in .45 and find it's a good piece. It's not $5,000 gun, nor is it trying to be. Good fit and finish and tight frame to slide fitment. It's plenty accurate for punching paper
 
Very impress by my SAM Commander Tactical, the tightness, the fit and finish, i will buy more... JP.
 
Nothing beats it in the budget to mid range class

Make the pilgrimage to Wolverine if you're anything under 4 hours away and get your fingerprints on those, and many other things in the glass cases ;)
 
One thing is sure for owning one of each, the SAM is in front of the R1 in all aspects for less money... JP.

Now that brings about a related question of who has the nicest GI style 1911?

I love the old Colt Government models for the clean lines and deep blue. Kinda spendy though. Not crazy on dead flat and coarse parked finishes but that's the reality further down the price point. Some, like the RIA or even STI have big n gaudy roll marks. I was honestly looking at the R1.

How does the basic SAM military compare with their higher end models for internals? Same or less polish and more haste in the fire controls?

Honestly I might end up keeping my eye open for a Springfield Armoury model.

Parts are polished where they were needed.

SAM GI is probably the best value/bargain for a GI style 1911... it will be tight and shoot well.
