Hi all, sorry if this has been asked (I searched, there was one post but no replies).

I'm looking for a regular CZ75B barrel, nothing fancy. I tried Dlask arms but they don't seem to have it on their website...

How many rounds have you put through it? It should last 50k to 100k rounds before needing replacement.

Really? I put about 25K now and its already in pretty bad shape...it's not as accurate as it once was.....and marks can be clearly seen in the grooves of the rifling...
it would be nice to have a fix too!

That's brutal dude. Is it just the inside of the barrel that's worn or are the external riding and locking surfaces also badly worn? The numbers I gave are on the low end. I've heard of Glocks hitting 750k before being retired (Range gun with little maintenance).

the locking surfaces are fine...but the internal rifling looks pretty bad, Im not sure if it's wear or lead build up...since I shoot a lot of cast lead boolits

It must be lead. Clean lead out, use both - chem solution and copper brush.
Barrel should last at least 50-100K rounds.
I had groups open up on me but only when not cleaning for 1-2K rds. Cleaning brings groups back.

Yeah, you can literally almost never burn out any barrel with cast lead bullets. It needs a good cleaning and should last many ten of thousands of rounds more.

Its absolutely lead build up, use good chemicals and a brush to clean it out. your barrel is just fine. Its not accurate as the internal diameter is smaller than when you first got it due to lead build up, its deforming the bullets, so they are not as accurate, that is why your accuracy is down. Clean it out, and you will be surprised.

Sorry what's considered corrosive ammunition?

Generally; Berdan primed ammunition with corrosive primers that use potassium chlorate as an oxidizer. This generally encompasses cheap and old surplus ammo from eastern bloc states and allies, including the USSR, China, Ukraine and others. Black powder can also be considered "corrosive", but that is due to the fouling being hygroscopic (attracts and retains water) and not due to any actual corrosive properties of the fouling itself.

Boxer-primed ammunition can also use corrosive primers.

A barrel with 25K rounds through it should not be worn out, especially if they are mostly lead bullets. It is entirely possible for a barrel to have a third of its rifling gone, yet still provide good accuracy:

Note also that the only reason that barrel was so badly worn after 50K rounds was because most of those rounds used lead-free primers, which have more abrasive residue than regular lead styphnate ones.

Your CZ barrel is most likely badly leaded. Get either some bronze wool or copper scouring pads, wind a piece around a brush or a jag to get a tight fit in your bore, and give your barrel a good scrub. Once you get all the major chunks of lead out, finish up using patches cut from a lead removing cloth or patches smeared in J-B Bore Cleaner for a final polish.
