My custom built AR 15 pics!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!

Or at least get a folding rear. I hate cluttering up the sight picture looking through irons and red dot.
Irons are for just in case, I used to want both and tried to co-witness but realized it doesn't help you at all and just obscures the target for nothing.
How about those pics? Been a while since the build. You should have a few hundred rounds through it by now.

Got a kid brother. I have not been out since August. I was trying to co witness the sights but not working out. Red dot is bang on 50 yards cited.

First this is me trying to get the irons more center of mass but couldn't accomplish that. groupings are tight. The trigger still fresh. The rifle only has maybe 150 rounds down it so far.

Here is few months ago, 25 yardish my group is circled. I will get more pics up. I need more trigger time behind this trigger. Its stiff.

Ammo is American Eagle FMJ 55GR and or Norinco 5.56mm 55GR

Heavier bullets will group better in a 1 in 7 since its mil spec and ment for tracer rounds and 62 gr 5.56. Try out some hornady 75 gr superformance in 5.56 and watch those groups shrink. Btw im a huge advocate of non mil spec barrels on ars since heavier bullets cost way more then cheap 55 gr stuff.

I figured as much. Still not bad for 55gr but I will get some heavier grain rounds and post.

Mopar, don't worry about too much, you can't overstabilize a bullet, all the 1:7 will let you do is stabilize the longer/heavier projectiles for shooting longer distances. A 1:7 will still shoot lighter bullets just fine. I've shot sub 1 moa groups with a 1:7 twist using 55gr bullets, try using a higher quality ammo and your groups will tighten right up. Most guys are having good luck with Hornady 55gr V-max and I've shot some nice groups with Winchester 50gr ballistic silvertips. Shooting Norinco will almost never give you good groups and American Eagle 55gr FMJ is usually only good for 2-3 moa.
If you really want to see what your rifle can do try some Black Hills 77gr Mk262 Mod1 which can be found at Tier One Armoury in Edmonton. It isn't cheap but my 12 inch PWS AR will shoot sub 1 moa with it. Or grab a box of Nosler match, can't remember if the last box of that I had was 75 or 77 grain.
You will need to use the heavy stuff if you want to shoot long range (500 yards or more) and thanks to your 1:7 you will have no problem stabilizing it :)
