I'll be needing a decent locking case for an AR soon. My criteria:
- Must hold a lower and two 16-18" uppers.
-Minimal size. Willing to break down the AR in order minimize length.
-Lockable, obviously.
-Priced reasonably. Not top shelf, but decent quality.

Any ideas?

its tough to beat the Pelican line up...pricey yes but built to last and definitely have that military grade look to them..
having said that there are a lot of companies out there making knock offs of the Pelican line...ebay is a good place to find those.I found one on my local online classifieds and am quite happy with it

have a look at Rampart and their Plano cases. 50% cheaper than pelican with 10$ shipping.
I have two of them now and they have integral locks.

If you have access to a US shipping address, the Pelican cases are reasonably priced through B & H Photo. Shipping is generally free as well.

Do you think I could fit an AR, a separate upper, and one or two handguns in that case? It is longer than I wanted but it would work if I could eliminate a separate handgun case.

What's sad is those same cases can be had for under $100. in the US. I've seen similar cases at Bass Pro back in August on sale for $79!

A little cheaper than Pelican if I remember right.....for a superior product IMO.

Try out hardcases.ca for pricing and usually if you ask for a discount, you'll get one.

EDIT: hardcases.ca
