Hello CGN,

We are pleased to announce our Sig IOP program in Canada.

This program is available to active Military, Law Enforcement, CBSA, Nuclear Tac, and any other Peace Officer that carries a gun in service to the Crown. Those included in the list are due to the fact that there are units/agencies/Nuke teams that issue Sig.

Our IOP differs from the other programs offered in Canada, in that the end user will make the purchase from a dealer of choice - not directly from us.

Please send all inquiries to: IOP@mdcharlton.ca; the form is available via this email.

Finer points on the program:
- One Sig firearm per calendar year
- Discount is essentially 10% off the retail price for the available firearms (listed on the form)
- Buyer completes the IOP form, and submits to their dealer at time of purchase

We will keep this thread open for as long as everyone remains civil and polite - do not turn this into the bash threads others became.

Regards,
MDC

sig, may have just changed my priority of purchase for handguns... glad to hear about this! i will pass it on to people i know who are not on CGN.

Question, will retired members qualify to par take? Self answered by visiting website, I have copied and pasted here, this should stop this type of query?

"SIG SAUER is proud to offer discounts to US and Canadian Law Enforcement and Military members on a wide range of our most popular duty-style pistols and rifles. Those who carry a firearm on duty as a public safety official or military member may qualify for our discount programs, through one of our SIG SAUER Law Enforcement Distributors (SLED).

Qualifying individuals:
Active or Retired Law Enforcement with official agency credentials
Court Officers with official agency credentials or official documentation
State / County / City Coroners with official agency credentials or official documentation
First Responders with current credentials or official documentation
Active Duty Military with an active duty identification
Retired Military with retired military identification
Active Reservists with Military Identification
Active National Guard with Military Identification
NRA Certified Firearms Instructors with current certificate of training"

and Thank you, dk

Thank you for bringing this up. The program you have quoted is offered from Sig USA to the US market. Canada is listed, as we have discussed (with Sig) the program we created for the Canadian market.
The qualifying list is different for each market, which is why we have our program configured the way it is.

As previously mentioned, the Canadian program is for active members only.

Regards,
MDC

To clarify the USA program extends it to first responders (firefighters/paramedic). Is there a plan to do this here? I would love a sig fde scorpion.

Correct, the US program extends to first responders. No plans to make this change for the Canadian program at the moment.
