Different types of 3 Gunners

Bersmith reminded me of another 3gunner I hadn't mentioned...

The Gentleman...this rare specimen has seen his fair share of matches and how he places ranks about 5th in his reasons for coming out. Despite his wealth of experience at these events (or perhaps because of) he is the first one to grab a patch gun and start helping to reset the stage after another shooter is finished, setting an example for the guys standing around comparing patches and staring at their tactical boots. He takes the time to encourage the new guys in the squad. Before he leaves the match he thanks the volunteers who he knows would rather be shooting instead of running around timing and scoring because he's been there. Many times. He is the most coveted of all types of 3-Gunners. He is the real "winner" of the match.

Some v would call that "the unicorn"...Lol

Hey, I think that guy got into our sea can recently and shoot our pistol rated steel targets with his SKS at Guelph.

Lol... Yup!
F*** that guy...lol

On a serious note. .. It's pretty sad there are shooters this stupid. 'Should have to take an IQ test to join a gun club

We have a bunch of guys like that around here.

What about the guy that brings a bolt gun for 3gun? :p

Hmmmmm. Believe I saw you do that once. Was a nice rifle. You are also a type not mentioned. The guy who has all the expensive stuff and looks like he just walked out of the store with everything but he can still shoot well(not common for these types). :D

You see the expensive stuff is to make up for poor shooting skills. I don't have any fancy guns unlike guys shooting JPs or Benellis. But my buddy still beats me from time to time with his bushmaster with an ebay red dot scope. :HR:

I am totally guilty of being the "Upgrader"

How about "The Soap Box shooter" This man or woman usually has the highest quality/most expensive gear, shoots the tops off of q-tips at 1000 yards and a consummate expert in every field. Will constantly be the first to state that "I can do this with my stock Norinco 1911 with a IWB holster and be just as fast as my buzz lightyear space cowboy .38 super dot sight in a ghost holster" but will never bring his/her Norinco 1911 .45 out.

Also known to be sometimes referred to 7.62mm's "The Re-Shootist"

I know a #2, and it just works that way, the OP started the numbering!
2: The "Tactical Gucci" .....these are the types that want to be the #1's, they have the dump pouches, the knives, the 10 pistol mag pouches, frag pouches.......pimples.....all kinds of crap hanging off their firearms, constantly sweeping you at the range.....you get the picture
It's ok for him to sweep you, after all the gun isn't loaded! Really, just look here, see, no,,,,, BANG,,,,, opps!

Not sure what to call him, but this is what he said to me at the last provincial 3 gun championships. I was looking at the score sheet to see how I was doing. He walks up to me and says to me, "I don't care if I win. As long as I beat you"

I'm lost for words to describe that kind of 3 gunner.

I said that to a guy staring back at me from a flat, mirror-like surface

You guys have provincial 3 gun championships? Under which organization or is it just an outlaw match?

I call them Friends.

They'll always be nipping at your heels to keep your game on. Bet them a beer and you'll work even harder.
