Going on a hiking trip this November and am wondering if hunting is still allowed anywhere in the park.

I've found a bunch of literature but can't find any of the townships listed or a map at all outlining where it is legal. I'm not sure if the information I'm finding is just outdated or what.

I know the natives have dibs on like the whole east half of the park.

As far as I know it's a no go to hunt in Algonquin.
There are a couple parks (backcountry/wilderness only) style parts where I believe hunting is allowed, but I am unsure which ones they are.

That's what I found. Still not clear where exactly it is legal. I've e-mailed them but no reply.

It says right in the link

Hunting is permitted in the Recreation/Utilization Zone in Clyde, Bruton and Eyre (McRae Addition) Townships. Hunting is also permitted in the east half of the Park by the Algonquins of Ontario.

I've got a regulated hunt camp in the park,C-12 is the camp # in Clyde Township.Day hunting is permitted 1 mile either side of the hydro line but no camping and you must buy a day pass for the park. The area in which my camp is in the park is WMU 54,just west of Whitney and is the first regulated hunt camp past the 1 mile.Hope this helps ?

Wmu 54, as 88man posted. 1 mile on each side of the powerline. Anything past that is natural zone or for the regulated camps only. Day use only, and park pass required.

Hunted there for 10 yrs, but havent been there in 4yrs.

Nothing like hunting the big bush.

Thanks that's what I was looking for.

Yes that is exactly what I found. Problem is I'm not 100% familiar with the area and whenever I put any of those places into google maps nothing comes up. Since they are so specific word-wise I was expecting them to maybe have somewhat of a map.

I heard back from the MNR and she sent along a very detailed description of where hunting is permitted and when and where it is not.

Quality might not be the greatest...
