Armalite AR-10T or DPMS REPR 308/7.62......

Cr-5, like everybody else, i dont like when i buy stuff that i dont like, just trying to buy without error ( very hard to do), those answers are helpfull for a decision, first time tonight, i heard about the LMT ( or listen and took the time to look at it), this forum have it's flaws but it is instructive... JP.

I can speak first hand about the lmt mws and I loved it (zero stoppages or failures and accurate) but moved from having a range 5 minutes from my door to driving hours so I sold it in favor of ordering a few LRB's. Hindsight I knew I'd move within reasonable proximity to a range but never thought rdsc would build 10 mins drive away. I've often thought about buying another but my heart is set on a LWRC REPR, SR25 ECC or larue OBR. these would be my top picks unless I can find a noveske N6

I would appreciate it if Epoxy could post more info (or share a reference where we can look it up) on what sounds like something more than just rumor that there is a possibility the AR platform will go non restricted. Can you direct us to somewhere to see this info in writing or is it just speculation? I would really like some more details on this including what they plan to do with barrel length and magazine capacity restrictions

The LMT MRP cbq is a serious contender... JP.

It's a nice rifle. That being said if price isn't a concern then you might want to just bite the bullet and get the SR25. Especially since you already have a SR15. It's a tough choice once you take out the money concern. In the states many consider the Lewis Stoner rifle to be the ultimate. IE LMT monlithic upper with KAC ambi lower.

Here are my LMT rifles. On the left is a LMT mrp with 16" SS bull barrel on it. On the right is the LMT MWS (308) with the 20" SS barrel. It gives you an idea of what the LMT looks like with the 20" nd compared to the 16" 223 version. Sorry iphone pictures only, I know the quality isn't great. The LMT MWS has an ambi mag release on the left side which the mrp doesn't have. The lower on the LMT MWS is the same as the KAC minus the ambi bolt release of the KAC.

By the way with the Armalite AR10T DND rifles... I've had a few ex military who served with these rifles contact me trying to find where they can get one. I know there is the nostalgia after using one in combat that would compel someone to look for one. But.. if these rifles didn't serve them well, they wouldn't be looking at getting or building another one like the one they had. Considering my experience in civilian range only use of these rifles, it wouldn't surprise me if they did pretty well with these. Especially after 06 when the Gen2 mags replaced the garbage gen1 mags. Just thought I'd mention this in case you start thinking your AR10 target rifle is too plain or not cool enough.

The way i figured my virtual order ( they all are until you go for it ) The LMT MWS 16 inchs + a extra barrel of 20 inchs both in 1 in 10 for now this is the potential buy... JP.

On the other hand, the LMT with both barrels have a price that is getting in sight of the SR-25... Gosh, hesitation must be a sign that you are getting older, i use to be faster on the trigger for my purchases... Oh well... JP.

LMT is a proven design that's been fielded by several militaries. It's been on the market for a few years and there are a bunch in civi hands. With a LMT MWS you as the consumer are not the beta tester. Mine is accurate and has had zero issues. Only drawback the LMT has is that it is heavy.

If you want to save money and build a lighter rifle there's the various DPMS offerings. I ran a DPMS-based Citizen Arms build on a McPhee course and it had zero malfunctions and was extremely accurate.

If money is no object go for one of the newer SR25 models. They have been extensively tested and are built to the highest standards.

If you feel like paying to be a product tester then roll the dice and go for the made in Canada .308 AR. Like any rifle who's only appeal is it's NR status, the value will plummet if the classification system undergoes a revamp.
