Ordered one of these Corwin Arms SVT scope mounts so heres a little overview on it .. The first one they sent seemed a bit too tight and felt like if i whacked it on with a mallet it would just destroy the aluminum tabs that slot into the receiver cuts so i contacted CA and they set me another mount with thinner tabs. This one was tight but tapped on with a mallet pretty easy , once on it had zero wiggle or movement .

A few notes , i had to do some very minor file work on the insert that the screw goes into so i could fit it into the hole inside the rear of the receiver and i filed the outside edge of it slightly cause my bolt was rubbing on it a bit , also i shortened the screw slightly with a file so it was not sticking out of the insert into the action.. the file work took less than 10 min on these parts..

This mount is rock solid ,sits as low as possible on this rifle and you dont have to modify or bubba your collector rifle in any way ! I would not recommend taking the mount off and on very often, kinda a pain and it may even loosen up over time doing that . When im shooting corrosive i wont take it off for cleaning ,i just greased the bolt and carrier and it should be fine for awhile then give the bolt face a good cleaning after shooting. I will only take the mount off and do a full cleaning on the BCG on a yearly basis im thinking..

At the range today it performed flawless ! there were no ejection issues with brass hitting the scope . Once zeroed i was hitting apples out to 150 yards with high regularity shooting Russian surplus ammo, had a blast! Heres some pics of the rifle..

the scope look to be very high ,

myself im trying to scope or put a red dot on mine , but no scout mount exist for the svt so i have to made my own but i still find it high at the minimun i can put the rail on , might have an idea to lower it of maybe another 1/8 or 1/4 at max

You cant make a mount any lower than this , its sitting pretty much right on the dust cover and any lower and your scope bell will be too close to the bolt carrier .. The cheek wield is not perfect but very usable in my shooting today , i will probably put on one of those strap on cheek risers though.

I got mine few weeks ago, perfect for me. Mine was custom fit so when I ordered I gave Martin size of riles on my SVT 40. It was just a snap with the mallet to install it plus when shooting it is dead solid

I'm not a collector SVT 40 is simply good semi-auto option for me, period correct no issue for me. Plus this configuration will totally return to original no permanent modifications needed. Not like all this bloody SKS mounts where you either have to drill and tap or destroy the disassembly pin
