Single shot, straight pull bolt action. The muzzle velocity would be very low and the blast horrendous as there's nearly no barrel past the chamber. Judging by the PKM and AKs and assortment of other random guns, plus the desert boots and helmet on the floor, I would guess this was seized somewhere in Afghanistan or Iraq.
