I finally found myself an original Remington 600 I've been wanting one for a while. The rifle is in nice shape but the recall has never been done on the trigger. I have 2 other 600s both are Mohawks. My 243 didn't need the recall because the serial number starts with an A. My other mohawk 308 was done when I got it and the left side of the trigger is stamped v so you know the warranty work was done. I emailed Canada's authorized warranty center for Remington about the recall. They took the serial number from the rifle but when the typed it in to there data base it didn't show up. They said no serial number warranty .I sent them a pic of the action clearly showing the serial number and the make and model. I'm guessing they don't get payed from Remington with out serial numbers. I emailed Remington to see what they have to say I haven't heard back yet. Did anybody ever run into a problem like this before?

Did you have the stock refinished???
Really like the look and somewhat different from the one I had. They are a sweet gun as you know

When I got the rifle there the stock was stripped it had no finish really dull and dry looking. I give it a light sanding then I stained the entire stock with a black water base stain. When it dried I sanded the black off the only black that remains is trapped in the grain of the wood it really makes the grain pop . I'm just putting a tung oil finish on it so far I put on three coats.

Ya I've got a couple of those little beauties also, a 600 in 308 and a Mohawk in 6mm I bought from a great guy on here. Hey caper736 when is our next addiction meeting? where did you get those great custom mounts at? Lol they sure make them a lot easier to load. Looks like the guy who mounted your scopes knows what he is doing. Lol

Lol gunny123 the machined base does make a big difference loading the rifle. I'm hoping my scope for the 600 will be in tomorrow I'll msg ya if it does.
We might as well have the addiction meeting while ur mounting my scope....hahaha
 
I've been playing with the 6.5 Rem. Mag. version for a few months and its very impressive.
Accuracy is better than expected from the short barrel and its a neat rifle to carry,
 
So you've got a rifle that hasn't been made since 1968, and as far as anyone knows, the trigger has never been a problem. If it makes you nervous, Jewell or Huber Concepts will happily sell you a new trigger for nearly the cost of a new rifle. My advice is if it ain't broke don't fix it; if its broken, that will become apparent in short order.

Cut the tip off the end of the safety that locks the bolt closed and your recall is almost done. Then test the safety to see it is lifting the sear when engaged and not dropping the firing pin when released. Any Remington 600 series or 700 series is subject to recall if the safety locks the bolt down.

Why did these rifles not gather a huge following? My brother in law has one in 6.5 Rem Mag and one in 350 Rem Mag. I love firing both those rifles!
