I was thinking this same Mod over the weekend, although I could easily change to Boyds' Nutmeg version.

Hmmm, that's more than a lb of additional weight.The lightweight is what i like about the American.I think i'll keep the plastic...The laminate looks sharp though.

Yup i just bought a 22-250 Ruger American for a backwoods carry rifle for varmits and i like its lighter weight too so i will leave mine a lone also BUT i really do like the looks of the BOYD stock on DILLIGAF 's Ruger ! RJ
