I have a scope mount for a Lee Enfield that is missing a screw. Judging by measuring it with my calipers, I THINK its a #6-48x1/4" but Im not certain on that. It has a flat slot head, and is tapered on the bottom before the threads, To mate with the countersunk holes on the mount.

Anyone know where I can get a funny little screw like this? Im located in Port Moody, so something in the tri-cities would be ideal but whatever I can find thats reasonably close would be fine. Would somewhere like wanstalls or International Shooting Supply have something, or would I likely need to find a gunsmith for this? Any recommendations?

Here is the mount and two of the 3 screws it needs...

FWIW, I would just go buy a new scope mount. Then it'll be all nice and shiny. They should come with new screws. Mine did for my Savage.

My only problem with that would be I already HAVE the mount. Plus it seems like it should be a lot easier to find a single screw than to find a mount, wait for shipping, ect.
Although I have thought about just getting a Weaver t01 mount, because it seems the mount I have was modified to work with holes that were originally put in place for a t01 mount... But then there is the dilemma of the fact that uses tip-off rings which are designed for a 22, not a 303.... So I'll go that route if I cannot get this mount to work. But for now, I am trying to get this super-oldschool Parker Hale mount on there...

A quick search on the internet led me here:

I can't find the size you're looking for on the Fastenal website. The closest they have is a 6-32 like this:

My guess is that this is a specialty size and you will need to buy one from a place that sells bits for firearms such as the first link I gave you.

Suther, did you have any joy at the gun show? The old fellow that's always right at the front door with a double table of gun parts had a big bin of old gun screws (pins) out today.

If yer still lookin' ... I have Brownells sight screw kit. 6-48 are indeed hard to find - used almost exclusively for sights. I'm in Calgary - could drop one in the mail fer ya... I hate to see/hear a grown man cry OR expect him to shoot iron sights!!! PM me if you need it.
