I recovered a couple Gold colered lead core rifle bullets at the range. Appear to be 270, (.277). I never seen a brassy gold colered bullet before. Anybody know what they might be?

No definately not copper, a real gold color just like the gold tip pistol bullets but it is mushroomed out, about a 140 grainer and is a flat base?

Would be hard to say what ammo it is from just a recovered bullet but there's a fair amount of brass jacket ammo around in rifle and pistol cartridges.

Norma Ammo was often loaded with a bullet that looks more brass than copper.

I have some of these as components in 6.5mm, 7mm, and 30 cal.

Oh yes, I also have some SAKO bullets that look similar. [30 cal]

Copper jackets can tarnish to brass given a bit of time... Our range has a lot of peat on the ground and it turns all the projectiles laying in it brass and all the brass black very shortly...
