Having a new .260 Rem built on a blued 700 action. The barrel is stainless and I'm having trouble picturing what the rifle would look like with the two finishes and set in a nice walnut CDL stock.

Considering leaving as is or possibly having it ceracoted as one colour.

Hoping you guys could post a few pics of blued actions, SS barrels set in walnut to see how it would look.

Thanks in advance.

Personally not a fan of two-tone metal... but it looks better in laminate than in walnut... to my eye, it just looks wrong in a nice walnut stock... my vote would be to cerakote the metal to a satin black.

Although two-tone is not an eyesore to me, like it is to some, I would have all of the metal on the gun nitron blackened by Murdoc at Arma-coat. That would be an amazing finish and add years to the longevity of the rifle even though the barrel is already in stainless. Perhaps use the gun as it is when you receive it and when it gets beaten up a bit have the work done. Then you'll get warm and fuzzy "added value" feelings.

It's not a beauty contest when you're using a synthetic stock.

My other option is a grey/black Boyds laminate, which might compliment the metal work in a better way.

Pics look great btw, thanks for posting.

I don't mind the two tone in the synthetic... and with those additional black accents (barrel band swivel, front and rear sights) on the laminate gun, it gives it a "finished" look... that gun would look incredible in a grey laminate as opposed to the brown... she is still a beauty... thanks for posting SC.
