My first!!!!!

Haha nice choice! I just bought the exact same handgun as my first firearm too! Just waiting for the transfer to complete before I pick it up from the store!

Now try not to let your head explode from anticipation of getting it to the club so you can shoot it!

Would it be improper to ask what you paid for it? What's a used 226 go for on the EE?

@rocket an.

Do you find the Mec Gar mags that much better? I will be in the market for 2-3 mags as the pistol only came with one.

I don't have many years under my belt of experience in pistols, but I do have probably 10 thousand rounds experience on Sigs if that means anything. I have never fired through the checkmates, even though I am in possession of 2. This advice is based solely on Internet chatter. I've read as of late the checkmates have indeed come up to a reliable standard, not that they were that bad in the first place.

If your interested in Mecgars source them from Mecgar. If you order mags through Sig you don't know which you'll end up with.

Your call, I went with the Mecgars and haven't had a problem yet.

Mec's are stamped made in Italy, checks are USA.

Congrats again, let me know if you have any questions.

Nice choice.....
But a couple of things come to mind: Bet you can't have just one!
They are also like mushrooms: they pop up overnight.... ;-})

I would say you certainly picked a quality first pistol! And as others have warned, you will get the Signess, and soon enough your safe will be full of Sigs (and others). Enjoy it :)

Jermyz,

It's a disassembly tool used to push into bottom of mag to slide off baseplate. I was surprised they included it when I bought my first Mecgar mag. Of course you can always use a punch.

Great gun. Sigs will never disappoint . I've got a 220 and a 210. The 226's are probably the most reliable pistols around. My 220 has never had any issues.
