I already ordered one, but have to ask and figure for the thread this will be useful, presume given it's machined from bar stock that the forward end, under the mag cap threads, is solid bar stock to form the "plug"? Those with lathes could bore it to the max legal 5.9 3" shells from the current 5?
 
Ardent - the plug is a piece of solid plastic epoxied in place.

I can confirm that 5.9 shells of 3" will fit... meaning 6 of 2 3/4". Just make sure you remove the retainer in the current mag tube. :)
 
Got my Extension tube. It is VERY tight and hard to get on. That being said it is on and works great. I needed to use masking tape and a pipe wrench to get it on. I was backing off and checking for thread damage each time i progressed a half rotation. There was no thread damage so I just kept going. Just throwing some advice for anyone else who gets this new batch.

I got one from the new batch, very easy to install, no tools needed.
