So , I wanted a quality 9mm . I was down to either a Beretta 92 , a CZ 85 or a sig 226 . I bought the sig 226 tacops . It came with five mags . Hoping I made the right choice as it seems like a nice pistol .

Your first is just a gateway. You'll buy many more and figure out what you like most over time. I would not have fussed at all about picking my first pistol if I knew how many more I would end up buying or trying.
You can't go wrong with any you listed. The 226 will be great.

You try 'em on for size first? A handgun must fit your hand or you'll never shoot it well. And if you're not reloading, you'll have to try a box of as many brands of ammo as you can to find the ammo your new pistol shoots best.

That is some strange advice.

First of all... a gun does not have to fit your hand to shoot well. It might have to fit your hand for you to enjoy shooting it but a good shooter will be accurate with a pistol regardless of feel.

Second, unless hes doing some kind of extreme precision shooting, any of those pistols will perform well with any factory ammo.

Strange advice? Well you gotta consider the source.

In this case, cadgo for the win.

Where's TDC? I thought he had an alarm that went off whenever someone on CGN mentioned handgun 'fit.'

Thanks guys . Yes I did try several guns . Really liked the " fit " of all of them except this boxy looking one ( not a Glock but something that looked a lot like one ) .
Liked the CZ 85 more then the 75 , really really liked the Beretta 92 and Sig .

I already have a LLAMA Omni 9mm and a Browning 1911 .22 . I just wanted a newer , higher end 9mm then the Omni . Always heard great things about the Sigs and am happy to have one ( well , have it coming after the CFO sends the registration ). Couldn't quite afford the 2-3000$ ones , but that 226 is quite reasonable for how nice it is .

Btw , that wee 1911 Browning is a nice shooter , if anyone is considering that type . Not one problem with three new mags and target match ammo . Honestly , I almost forgot I was shooting a 22 , what with that short barrel and all , it has a respectable crack and recoil similar to the 9s I was shooting .
Thanks for your opinions gentlemen !

All 3 handguns are great! I sold my Sigs tho and stuck with Beretta, CZ and Glock. but I do Norinco P228 copy :) cant beat one for $300!

I gaurentee I'll be looking for a Beretta pretty soon on the EE . Just need to get the bank balance back into a comfortable place before I buy that one . I think I'll wait for an older one that's italian made . Pretty sure I'm a happy camper for awhile with this Sig .
Dang , so many nice guns out there !
