Dumb question but ....

Google is your friend! Why not just google the regs and look it up? Seeing it in print is much better than word of mouth or in this case internet forum opinions, especially if you find yourself getting a charge. Had to say "so and so on gunnutz says it's legal"!!

get one of them double barrel type front stuffers, you know the over/under revolver action where both barrels rotate, manually of course, but it will put your mind at ease.........or........practice loading and shooting, some guys I have shot with are just as fast with a muzzle loader with follow up shots as some new hunters using a bolt action............

So in other words you are just trolling? :bsFlag:

So why don't you go into say "off topics" forum instead of the hunting forum since you're not really looking for a legitimate answer and start a thread about how cool it would be to dress up like Davy Crockett, build a blind that looks like a fort and carry a whole bunch of muskets for moose? Or hey, even better since you are in Timmins go to Kidd Creek on horseback and put on a Buffalo hunt?!!

Can you bring mulitple muzzleloaders to a stand so a follow up shot is a possiblility ?

Just if you can , not the why

Do you have a Valid Provincial Hunting Lic for the Province in which you reside?
the question you ask is likely in the regs. not to mention it would have been covered in the Hunter Ed course for your province...

Because they dont have any buffalo . If you have nothing to add , go away and move along .
The only troll is the one who started this thread with such limited information as to Province, season and game animal....
I'll move along now as there is nothing more to be seen.
Tight Groups,
Rob

That question would be best directed via email to your provinces officials.

I know in MB it's illegal to use a double barrelled muzzleloader on big game and under federal Migratory Bird regulations, it's illegal to have more than one assembled shotgun in the field per person. When fishing, it's also illegal here to have more than one line in the water, except ice fishing, then the max is two.

Common sense would dictate that having multiple muzzleloaders in the blind would be frowned upon, at the very least. Most officers don't really like it when hunters think they're above the law and start taking advantage of "grey zones" within regulations, like ghost loading, etc. Rightly so.

The muzzleloader only season allows for an added hunting opportunity just like the archery season. I wouldn't mess with "testing the waters".

I read in a muzzleloader book that a well trained English soldier in the good old days could load and fire his brown bess six times a minute.
how about that, sports fans!

I think it's a good question TJW...........I've never read or heard there was a restriction to the number of rifles one had with them when hunting, or the number of bows or muzzle loaders...........I think it's a very pertinent question and would be interested in hearing the different provinces take on it. The Yukon has no separate ML season so it has no restrictions regarding MLs, except size wise for big game and bison, I think.
For you scoffers what about rifled shotgun barrels for "shotgun only" zones.........if the barrel is rifled it is technically a 12 bore rifle not a shotgun at all and the user should be charged. In the real world it's the rifling that defines a rifle and separates it from a musket or shotgun.
I don't think TJW is trolling and I would like to hear what the different game regs have to say or if it's even addressed........

laurencen.........Why? .......who says so.........is it in the regs where you live and hunt?

would a cap and ball style revolver (with a 24 inch barrel and rifle stock) be considered a muzzleloader? common sense thinks maybe?!?! its loaded at the muzzle of each chamber but doesn't come out the rifled bore.

Now that's a muzzleloader I could sink my teeth into. 4 shot revolving cap and sabot???

Must have been a whole bunch of "Witty" Davy Crockett's got them all. LOL!!

I don't know about big game hunting but it is illegal to have two loaded firearms for waterfowling.

I think they were dying from the exhaust emission of the refining plant so they thought it best to get rid of them before people got asking questions about why there were dead buffalo in the front of the plant

How about you stay within the spirit of the law?.... i am against he traditionalists that want to preach ball and patch and powder only, but i am also against people who go out of their way to get an advantage because said advantage will lead to one of two things....

The elimination of a season or strict rules....

I personally love the bp season and would hate to see it gone because people decided to challenge the rules for their advantage....

Plus they don't live forever, I am sure many were dying of old age. They were there when I lived in Timmins in the mid 80's.
