Gun Auction , Edmonton,Oct25-26, lots of neat Milsurps & militaria, Wards Auctions

Well thankfully I went to the preview, as if I had bid on the Swiss Mannlicher 93 that I have dreamt of for years I would have been heartbroken. Its buttstock looks like it was kicked more than a soccer ball. Most of the guns are in fairly 'well used' condition. One of the Hungarian 43s is in very nice condition though. The kar88 was a disappointment as well, so more money saved.
Cheap entertainment going to the preview though, that pzb39 looks so nice, and me with only one round of ammo for it.

First rule about an auction. If there is something you were interested in, don't tell anyone about the auction.

It's just like the "What's it Worth" in the Milsurp section. All the Heroes and Zeros come out with "Know it All and Free Advice" what they saw one sell for all across the world for top dollar times 5!
Then "Buddy" who hasn't got a clue what it's worth tries listing it for top dollar times seven when his POS has "Bubba" issues. Then, 21 Back to Top "Bumps" later and it still hasn't sold without any bites.

There were more than one 43M? I saw only 0145D.

Lots of very scarce guns there and I'm wondering if sale prices will be revealed.

I am particularly interested in what the 43M, 98/40 and the Mauser M71's went for. You don't see those come up for sale very often.

If you bought it at a gun show, you paid too much; if you bought it at a gun auction, you paid way too much.

I've completely given up on gun auctions. At least at a gun show you can breeze by 10 tables of cheap, uninteresting shotguns and rifles in five minutes. At the auction you have to endure hours of puffing and wheezing as they try to get the last 5 bucks from each boring example.

One could have been a G98/40, I cant remember for certain now.

I'm sure someone was selling the 1909 Argentine SN 2 on the EE a few years back.
