It does straighten out when closed. I'm not sure about the wood, some sort of hardwood, I don't it's too high quality, but does the job and looks nice. I don't think you can get parts, the gun was only $313.19 to my door, pretty awesome deal (kudos to CanAm). Negative on different stocks or camo.

I've read from other Outlaw and Backpacker owners that the forend or stocks get loose after a few rounds. Me and my buddies put 48 slugs, mostly magnum loads, and the Outlaw is tight as a fishes *******, and that's water tight!

Our collective shoulders gave out before the Outlaw, once again great job CanAm.

There out of stock now, but I'd highly recommend these firearms.

Yes, parts are available, as Can Am intimated about a million posts ago, he brought in spares in the form of parts guns. Now that you know, why not just buy one and be done with it :nest:

Plan on ordering mine on tuesday, sure it doesnt sound like they are perfect but this is just a fun gun that ill bring out with me when im shooting skeet or at the range just to play with, have fun and draw attention. i just wish that 90% of the pics on this thread still worked. all of the pics that a guy posted about tearing his outlaw down dont work...at least on my end. ill post once i recieve and have shot it! Cant wait!
 
Since CanadaAmmo just put these on sale for $250, I bought one. Maybe there will be a surge of new users/voters in this thread in the coming weeks.
 
I got flamed the first time guys. I bear no guilt/blame for this resurrection.

BTW my Outlaw is still going strong.

I corrected the high POI of the right barrel and the high and left barrel POI of the left barrel by JB welding some TruGlo's onto the rib. Bubba rules!

JB weld is a great product. If I had an outlaw I would make sure I had a gallon or Two on Hand. Where's Claybuster??

I'll have you know that it is a genuine Samsonite and was the height of office chic for engineers and geologists in the 80's. ;)

Factoring in inflation I paid more for the Samsonite than I did for the Outlaw.

It sure is inconspicuous for walking around with, even when it's chock full of 25 rounds of OO buck, 50 rounds of .357 magnum and 50 rounds of .22 LR.

Let it be known: when you shoot it on the skeet range, surrounded by the big B guns, people move back away from you. They say it's the noise but I am not so sure. :) This is a fun gun & I do hit some clays with it. It is constructed with steel wood & testosterone! The only improvement I did, and would do again, was to put turkey sights on it (think similar to low rifle sights) This keeps me on the stock and shots at POA. Best I can say is shot it & have fun, that is why we bought them. (next year it is going to make at least 1 trip to the layout blind)
 
Hi guys,

I got my Outlaw from CanAm this week. It looks great but I just have one question about the opening lever. I've never had a double barrel shotgun before so I don't know what is considered normal.

My lever needs to be pushed all the way to the right to open the chamber, but when closed it doesn't go all the way back to the middle it stays to the right a bit.
When two shells are inserted and the chamber closed it stays even further to the right. I can't break it open once closed without pushing the lever and still need to move the lever at least a quarter inch to half inch to open the chamber.
The left edge of the lever is just touching the right edge of the flathead screw in the middle for reference when shells are loaded.
With no shells and the chamber closed the lever covers about half of the screw.
I just want to make sure that is normal and it won't pop open when I shoot it for the first time. I think I'm being paranoid but thought I'd ask other owners.

Otherwise it looks better than I expected, the wood is flawless on mine. I can't wait to shoot it for the first time next weekend.
 
Well just to answer my own post, I took it out for the first time today and put a few rounds through it. After that I noticed that the lever goes to the middle now when it is loaded and I close the gun. Just needed a couple rounds to break in is all.
It shoots great, recoil isn't as bad as others made it sound (didn't shoot 3" loads though). Everyone who sees it loves it.

Just got mine a week ago and haven't shot it yet, but the open lever is the same as yours was so hoping it will center when I put some rounds through it, it looks nice the stock does seem a bit big, and where they welded the chamber to the barrel you can see the grove, not sure if that is normal but I like it, very cool and can't wait to shoot it!

and.......time for another ressurection. Mine had the exact same seam lines you were talking about. Has it caused any problems for you? I noticed the seem is in some pics of the Outlaw, and other times it's not.
