Browing Hi power of CZ 75B?

Only Hi-Power's I've ever shot were the Army's and they never seemed to function correctly (probably just the mags). I have a CZ-75 and do like it as well, but I find the grip to be a little fatter than the Hi-Power and not quite as comfortable.

Good to hear both are good pistols. I might just go with Both lol. But what to get first? I think I might go for the CZ since I have already experienced the Hi-power. But the New Hi-power with the nice blued finish just looks so nice. Decisions are hard.

To each his own but I don't really see putting north of 1K+tax into a new Hi-Power when there are some lovely classics going for 700+/- on the EE.

If you have 1,039 +tax to spend why not go on the EE and buy both?

I too cut my teeth on the Queen's BHPs, and concur they are junk. Probably the 10000s of rounds through them over the years.

My personal ones run great; even those of WW2 vintage. Don't let the crappy CF ones taint you!

Anyone who saw problems with Canadian Army HiPowers, guaranteed it was because they were worn out and needed a parts overhaul. They gained a great rep for high mileage even before the end of ww2. But by the last two decades, I think they are too far gone to perform properly. And yet... they could probably be rebuilt. Some of them.

HiPowers that have not gone to war 3 times in a row, had a pallet of ball run through them, will perform just fine!

How would a handgun issued in 1944 be a high miler in WW11. Guns don't get worn out sitting in officers holsters. Just curious.

Take Care

I love the Hi Power, they are beautiful well designed pistols with a very solid track record, but have never tried a CZ in comparison.

I got it all wrong! I thought the dates were different. My ultimate point though is that at some point many decades ago they hwd developed a reputation for longevity and reliability, which speaks to the design and quality of manufacture.

I second this thought; as of late (and I'm not sure why) there have been some stellar deals in the EE for classic Hi-Powers AND CZ75's.

I have 70's Hi-Power with a blued finish and a CZ75B Omega. Love them both, though I have to admit the CZ get's much more range time now, where as the BHP get's ogled.
