What is the tool called that seats a primer?

The actual "cup" that you put a primer in before you seat it into the primer pocket.

Is it called a punch? I cant seem to find one for small pistol primers. Everywhere that I call understands what I am asking for, but noone can provide a name. Ive heard "cup", "tube", "punch".

Having the proper name will accelerate my search I'm sure. lol.

From your description it's a punch that is part of a primer seating tool.

The cup or (pocket) is part of the shell casing your going to load

I use my press(bonanza) by the way. not a hand priming tool.

I think he's talking about the spring loaded "primer cup" that holds the primer in position over the punch

you need a small primer seater, doesn't matter if it is pistol or rifle primers, small is small and large are large. If you don't have the co-ax type press then I would call forster, they are great for customer service and replacement parts.

short of that look into a hand primer or bench mounted primer press

The Forster hand primer is very good I have one and it's fool proof and easier on the hand
